(Dan Tri) - Not only possessing a beautiful appearance, Sao Mai also impressed the online community with her academic achievements. She was trained at the top famous school in Japan.
Dinh Sao Mai (born in 1998, Hanoi) graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Waseda University, Japan - the school that has trained many politicians and celebrities in the land of cherry blossoms. After 6 years of studying abroad, the girl born in 1998 decided to return to Vietnam to work. Currently, Sao Mai is a lecturer in the Department of Language Practice and Foreign Language 2 at the Faculty of Japanese, Hanoi University. With her outstanding appearance and beautiful face, Sao Mai quickly received a lot of attention from young people in Vietnam and Japan.
Choose to study in Japan to reach your childhood dream
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter about her decision to study abroad, Sao Mai said: "During the summer vacation of grade 3, I had the opportunity to visit Osaka city (Japan) to visit my mother. It was the cultural experiences, friendliness and loveliness of the Japanese people that made me think about returning here to study in the future. When I was in high school, I dreamed of studying at Waseda University and always tried to proactively update the registration news. After many difficult rounds of exams, I officially fulfilled my childhood dream". To be able to be admitted to the most prestigious school in Japan, Sao Mai had to complete 3 essays, take a direct test in the form of essay questions and an interview round with two lecturers of the faculty she registered to study. In the beginning, Sao Mai had to pay all living expenses herself. She then used her first year's academic results to apply and successfully won a scholarship of 1.2 million yen/year, which she received until graduation.

Not only that, Sao Mai was honored to be chosen as the representative face in the school's promotional activities in magazines and social networks; represented Waseda University international students to participate in a Japanese speech contest for foreign students and was lucky to receive a job offer at the parent company of the Uniqlo fashion brand. In addition to having impressive academic achievements, the Hanoi native also enthusiastically participates in many extracurricular activities and is a member of several different clubs such as fashion, piano, etc. "I used to be introverted and shy in a new environment, but studying abroad helped me change and improve myself a lot. Coming to a place without relatives, with a different culture and language, made me realize that no door will open by itself if I don't take the initiative to move forward. During the 4 years, I have made many close Japanese friends to accompany and share with. I feel lucky because my study abroad life is always full of happy memories," Sao Mai confided.
Determined to return to Vietnam to work and contribute to the country
After graduating from university, Sao Mai did not choose to stay in Japan to find job opportunities like her friends, but chose to return to Vietnam to contribute to the country. Few people know that Sao Mai's family has a long tradition of teaching. Her mother is the great source of motivation that helps the female lecturer born in 1998 to nurture her dream of becoming a "fire keeper", passing on knowledge and passion to generations of students. Sao Mai shared: "In the era of information technology, science and technology are constantly developing, social life is changing every day, as a young lecturer, my biggest pressure is to always update my knowledge, gain experience to be steady on the podium. Fortunately, my mother is also a university lecturer, so she is always the one who listens to me share my thoughts and concerns in studying, teaching and research and gives valuable advice".
When becoming a university lecturer, the greatest thing Sao Mai has achieved is the sincere affection from her students. She feels happy when receiving many touching handwritten letters with flowers and teddy bears from students in her class. Talking about becoming famous on social networks, Sao Mai said that she felt surprised when her relatives, colleagues and students continuously shared her pictures and gave her compliments. Being noticed by the online community, Sao Mai is very happy and joyful. However, this problem sometimes makes her tired when some people take advantage of her by sending messages, expressing their feelings and bothering her for a long time. "When I became more known through social networks, some students who were not in my class still tried to find me to say hello and take pictures with me. The students in the school are all very lovely and enthusiastic. I always cherish those small, sweet feelings. Perhaps, this is the motivation for me to love and stick with the profession for a longer time," Sao Mai shared. In addition to teaching, the young female lecturer also participates in international scientific conferences, collaborating on research with lecturers and scientists from many universities in Japan.

Sharing her plans for the future, Sao Mai hopes to have more opportunities to cooperate in scientific research, contributing to improving the quality of Japanese language teaching for Vietnamese students, and making progress in both her expertise and other activities. The Hanoi-born lecturer also hopes that in the near future, she can develop a Japanese language teaching platform on social networks to help young people and the foreign language community.
