Dong Nai Every Wednesday and Friday morning, Ms. Ngoc Ha visits Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School to guide students in sports dancing, making them excited.

At 6:20 a.m. on May 24, Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Ha, 45 years old, Director of a bank transaction office in Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province, was present at the yard of Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. Seeing her arrival, the students in the school quickly lined up in the middle of the yard to practice dancing.

To the background music of the song "Beloved School", nearly 200 students moved rhythmically to her movements. The dance class lasted about 20-30 minutes. At exactly 6:45, Ms. Ha stopped to drive to her workplace, about 17 km away. After that, she took the time to shower, change her uniform and go to work at 7:30 according to the agency's regulations.

Previously, Ms. Ha was the director of a bank transaction office in Bien Hoa City, so the commute was quite convenient, usually only taking a few minutes to travel. Therefore, students practiced during the 6:30-7:00 time frame. In early May, she transferred to Thuan Giao Town, Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province, the distance was further, so the practice time had to be moved up earlier.

She said she has to wake up at 4:30 every day to prepare. Before going to school, she teaches sports dancing for a club for about 30 minutes every day, from 5:10 to 6:10.

In addition to Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School, she also trains students at Tam Hoa Primary School, Bien Hoa City in the late afternoon.

Ms. Ha Thi Lan, Principal of Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School, said that students started practicing this subject in March, twice a week. On the remaining days of the week, some students who dance well will act as models for the others. This activity does not cost any money because Ms. Ha does not receive any remuneration.

"Dance exercises are fun and help improve health and spirit. I also want students to practice to have positive energy every day at school," Ms. Lan shared.

Ms. Lan said that the training is based on the needs of the students, the school only encourages them to participate to improve their health. Since the implementation, Ms. Lan said that she saw that the students were more interested in practicing sports, and had a more positive spirit. Not only the students but also the teachers were excited to participate in Ms. Ha's exercises.

Because he loves to learn to dance with Ms. Ha, every Wednesday and Friday morning, Pham Nguyen Bao Long, a 5th grade student at Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School, tells his parents to take him to school early to be on time for his dance class.

At first, Long was tired and his limbs were sore, but after a week of getting used to it, Long gradually adapted.

"In addition to practicing at school with Ms. Ha, I dance by myself and review the moves at home. I like dancing to Cha Cha Cha and the song "Holding Hands Together" the most," Bao Long said.

Ms. Ha said she has been practicing dance sports for 10 years. She chose this sport because it is suitable for her physical condition, easy to practice, and inexpensive. The initial purpose of practicing was to improve her health. When her level improved, she practiced professionally and competed in many competitions at home and abroad.

The opportunity that brought Ms. Ha to teach sports dance at school started at the end of 2022. When she heard the principal of Tam Hoa Primary School, Bien Hoa City, say that he wanted students to practice sports dance to improve their health, she immediately agreed and supported it for free.

According to Ms. Ha, sports dancing with basic exercises is suitable for all ages and physical conditions, helping the body to be flexible, toned, and active. Sports dancing is characterized by performing dance movements to vibrant, cheerful music. Students practice early in the morning to create a habit of exercising and to help refresh their spirit before entering class.

For primary school students, she has to create a separate lesson plan with age-appropriate movements, combined with familiar songs for the students. Students are trained in basic and advanced technical movements of dances such as Cha cha cha, Bepop, Disco, Zumba or exercises that combine many dances.

"I consider instructing people to exercise as my daily exercise. Moreover, exercising with students helps me feel younger and more optimistic," Ms. Ha shared.

"I am passionate about sports dancing so I am very happy to apply this sport to community activities. Seeing many people improve their health and spirit, I have more motivation to continue," said Ms. Ha.
