French female tourist writes letter of thanks to Vietnamese doctor for dedicated care

On December 14, Hue Central Hospital received a thank you letter from Ms. Dyen Roux Annie Marie (73 years old, French tourist) after her left hip replacement surgery, discharge from the hospital and preparation to return home.

In the letter, the French female tourist sent her thanks to the Board of Directors of Hue Central Hospital, the team of doctors, nurses... for their thoughtful care during the days she was treated at the hospital.

"The surgery was very successful, we sincerely thank the staff for their dedicated, thoughtful, and professional care. I would like to thank Ms. Mai at the insurance service unit, Ms. Trang the interpreter, the anesthesiologists and the rehabilitation doctors, Dr. Yen who visited me every day, and especially thank Professor Hy. We would like to send many thanks to everyone...", roughly translated a passage from the letter of Ms. Dyen Roux Annie Marie.

Previously, on December 1, while traveling with her husband in Hue City (Thua Thien - Hue), Ms. Dyen Roux Annie Marie slipped down the hotel stairs, causing her left ankle to rotate outward, losing the ability to walk.

The female tourist was transferred to the International and On-Demand Treatment Center at Hue Central Hospital for emergency treatment. There, doctors quickly ordered an X-ray and discovered that Ms. Dyen Roux Annie Marie had a fracture of her left femur.

Ms. Dyen Roux Annie Marie was promptly treated and cared for by doctors at Hue Central Hospital.

Professor Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital, directly directed the patient to receive timely multidisciplinary consultation with the diagnosis. After that, Ms. Dyen Roux Annie Marie urgently underwent surgery to replace the entire left hip joint to help relieve pain, mobilize early, and avoid complications due to prolonged immobilization such as pneumonia, pressure ulcers, deep vein thrombosis, etc.

The surgical team was directly led by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hy, Director of the Center for On-Demand and International Treatment - Hue Central Hospital.

Hue Central Hospital said that after surgery, Ms. Dyen Roux Annie Marie's health recovered very well, she was given medical stockings to prevent deep vein thrombosis and received rehabilitation exercises according to a special program for hip replacement patients.

Yesterday afternoon, December 13, Ms. Dyen Roux Annie Marie was discharged from the hospital and planned to fly home. Today, December 14, she wrote a letter of thanks to the hospital leadership and doctors.
