H Wuen used illegal money to buy guns and bullets, luring and enticing many people to join the reactionary organization.
On January 16, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Court opened a mobile first-instance trial of 100 defendants in the terrorist attack on the headquarters of two communes, Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur (Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province).
There are 100 defendants (6 defendants were tried in absentia due to being wanted) prosecuted for the crimes of: Terrorism against the people's government; Terrorism; Terrorism aimed at opposing the people's government; Organizing illegal exit and entry for others; Concealing criminals.
The Dak Lak Provincial People's Procuracy determined that the defendants' attack on the headquarters of a public authority was extremely serious, causing 9 deaths (including 4 police officers, 2 commune leaders, 3 residents), many people were seriously injured. It caused a total loss of more than 2.5 billion VND, especially affecting the political security situation in the area.
The two defendants who played a leading role in the terrorist organization, opposing the Party, State and government of Vietnam, were Y Sol Nie and H Wuen E Ban. In 2016, Y Sol fled abroad and joined the “Montagnard Support Group” led by Y Mut Mlo. Y Sol joined this organization to establish the so-called “De Ga State” of 5 provinces in the Central Highlands. During his time abroad, this defendant sent money to his accomplices in Vietnam to attract others to join the reactionary organization.
In May 2023, defendant Y Sol returned to Vietnam, through the support and assistance of subject H Wuên Êban. Y Sol then organized many meetings at different times and locations to direct the attack on public authorities.
During the interrogation, H Wuên Êban stated that through Facebook, she got to know the exiles Y Mut Mlô and Y Quynh Bdap. In 2017, H Wuên participated in the organization that established the “De Ga State”, becoming a key figure, informing the exiles about the situation in the country. After that, this female defendant received money from abroad for the purpose of building a base, preparing weapons, etc.
H Wuen used the illegal money to lure and entice gullible people into her reactionary organization. By doing so, this female subject became the leader, building a terrorist group in Vietnam with about 50 people.
At the same time, the female defendant also bought guns, bullets, and made flags symbolizing the reactionary organization "De Ga State" and flags for "De Ga Soldiers".
The trial is expected to last 10 days (January 16 to January 26).
