Having a good launching pad from Sao Mai Diem Hen, Phuong Anh still missed many opportunities for development. She admitted that she is a person with a lot of inertia that she cannot change. Sometimes, when she sees her friends shining in their careers, Phuong Anh feels sorry for herself because she used to be like that, and had very good opportunities, but because she is not a determined person, willing to give it all even though she loves her job very much, Phuong Anh admits that she is still halfway there...

"I still regret it. If I could go back to 2004, I would be more determined, devote myself to music, and create more worthy values. I regret it but I don't feel sad when my Sao Mai classmates from that year now have positions. Like Tung Duong, what must he have been like to be successful! Not many people are passionate about art and work as enthusiastically as him." Phuong Anh once shared in the media.

Meritorious Artist Phuong Anh has just been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the age of 42.

After the competition, Phuong Anh did not enter the bustling music market, but chose to stick with the Navy Art Troupe. In the army, she often participated in performances for the people in and outside the area as well as in art and political programs of the units. In 2019, Phuong Anh was one of the youngest singers to be awarded the title of Meritorious Artist by the State. Recently, she was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the age of 42.

Receiving the decision to promote, Phuong Anh could not hide her emotions: " My colleagues at the same agency were all happy, teasing me as 'the youngest lieutenant colonel in the entire army'. This is a sweet reward for me after 26 years of dedication to the Navy. For someone serving the arts in the army like me, the rank of lieutenant colonel QNCN can be said to be the highest" - Phuong Anh shared on Vietnamnet.

In addition to her successful career, Phuong Anh also has an admirable family. In 2008, she married her Pakistani husband, Muhammed Khan. A few years after their wedding, the couple welcomed twins, a boy and a girl.

In addition, he is fluent in both Malay and English. Living in the Vietnamese community, Muhammed is often called "Khan", but over time people thought his name was "Khang".

In 2017, Phuong Anh’s husband’s business suddenly encountered an incident, and then she and her husband were scammed out of money. The continuous economic losses caused the singer’s family to be in turmoil. Because of this, the singer was depressed for several years. However, when the marriage reached the point of collapse, she was alert and sensitive enough to preserve her happiness.

"For years, I lived at rock bottom. I wanted to give up everything, no longer interested in work. Both my husband and I were tired and bored, so we closed our hearts, told each other, and didn't want to share with each other anymore.

Honestly, we were both on the brink of tension at that time. If we didn't try hard enough, we could have broken up. Luckily, after the storm, we realized that we still loved each other, needed each other, and family was still the most sacred! We advised each other that as long as we had people, we still had property, and as long as we had hands, why not be afraid of not earning money back? But as soon as that deadline was over, my husband and I were cheated out of money again. The amount of money wasn't too much, but that scene really haunted me, and when I think about it now, I still shudder." Phuong Anh shared in an interview in 2021.
