NTO - Scientific workshop "Orientation for science, technology and innovation development to serve economic development"

On May 17, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) organized a scientific workshop on “Orientation for the development of science, technology and innovation to serve the socio-economic development of Ninh Thuan province”, period 2026-2030. Attending the workshop were comrade Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches and sectors; a number of experts, scientists and enterprises inside and outside the province.

According to the Department of Science and Technology, implementing Resolution No. 14-NQ/TU, dated January 10, 2022 of the 14th Provincial Party Committee on promoting the application, development of science and technology and innovation (ST) by 2025, with a vision to 2030, the province's S&T and ST activities will develop with focus and key points, closely linked with the production and business activities of enterprises, making practical contributions to improving labor productivity, quality and production efficiency, especially in the fields of agriculture, industry and development of specific products of the province, contributing to increasing the contribution rate of S&T through the total factor productivity index to GRDP in 2022 to reach 22.5% and by 2023 to reach 35.39%.

Speaking at the workshop, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The Resolution of the 14th Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Congress has set out the key task for the field of science and technology, which is to promote research, transfer, and strong application of achievements of the 4th industrial revolution in all areas of social life, especially topics and projects in line with the province's socio-economic development strategy. Promote innovation, taking enterprises as the center; support enterprises to develop, innovate modern production technology, create breakthroughs in productivity, quality and competitiveness.

At the workshop, delegates focused on presenting and discussing directly on groups of issues related to the orientation of science and technology development and innovation in Ninh Thuan province until 2030; digital transformation of the local economy - from motivation to feasible tasks; solutions to build and develop an innovation startup ecosystem, improving the efficiency of production and business activities of enterprises.

In his closing speech at the workshop, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the enthusiastic, responsible and frank contributions with many good ideas, initiatives and solutions, which are valuable in both scientific and practical aspects, helping the province to have an orientation for the development of science and technology and innovation in the following years. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Science and Technology to study, absorb, synthesize all the contents and propose to the Team to build a thematic report to serve the 15th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
