Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long burst into tears when receiving the Gold Medal for his role as hero Le Loi.

Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long received the Gold Medal at the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival for his role as national hero Le Loi. The male artist was overwhelmed with emotion because his efforts were recognized after many months.

National Cai Luong Festival 2024 is an activity chaired by the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism), in coordination with the Vietnam Stage Artists Association and the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City. After 20 days of competition, the event ended successfully.

First time taking on a heavy role in the historical reformed opera field, Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long conquered the audience and the Jury of the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival to receive the Gold Medal.

Historical opera Lam Son heroes (author Pham Van Dang, director Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long) of Thien Long Stage is a Vietnamese historical opera depicting the image of national hero Le Loi, who had great merit in driving the Ming army out of the country with a deep love for his country.

In the role of national hero Le Loi, Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long tried his best to act. Throughout the play, the male artist maintained his singing and acting skills, with scenes that required good acting skills from the artist.

"My crew and I practiced for more than a month. When I got home, I stood in front of the mirror to practice my lines, character, and choreography... Perhaps because I was so immersed in the role, the hero Le Loi still haunted me even in my sleep," he said.

The role appears from the beginning to the end of the play, requiring Kim Tieu Long to be mentally prepared and physically fit to complete the work. He performed passionately but did not lack quiet moments, filled with the hero's feelings.

Thanks to his mark on stage, Kim Tieu Long won the Gold Medal at the final and award ceremony.

For the male artist, this is a great achievement, marking a turning point in his acting career. Over the years, Kim Tieu Long has worked hard in many fields, not only in music, social opera, traditional opera but also in historical opera.

Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long, as director, wholeheartedly supported his junior to shine.

Meritorious Artist Kim Tieu Long said: "My greatest luck was that teacher Kim Tu Long agreed to be the director of the play. This was a correct choice for me. He considered me as a family member, closely following, instructing, and taking care of me from every line to acting and choreography."

Meritorious Artist Nhu Huynh won the Gold Medal for the role of Princess An Tu (play) Forever shining sun and moon, Cao Van Lau Theater, Bac Lieu) shared: “I am really happy because all my efforts and hard work have paid off. This is the Gold medal I have been waiting for the most. I have carefully studied the role and put a lot of effort into conquering this prestigious medal category", Meritorious Artist Nhu Huynh.

The artist shared that he had heard many rumors, doubts about his ability, even slander and criticism, but he chose to remain silent and considered it a motivation to strive.

"This Gold Medal is the clearest answer to my ability. I confidently say that my success today is thanks to my 'backers'. They are my parents, family, close colleagues and true artists," she shared.
