Nong Thuy Hang reveals the reason for competing in Miss Friendship International 2023 in China

Recently, the official fanpage of Miss Friendship International posted a photo and announced that Miss Nong Thuy Hang is the representative of Vietnam in this beauty contest. Immediately after that, Dan Viet reporter contacted Miss Nong Thuy Hang. The beauty born in 1999 shared that she was contacted by the National Director of Miss Friendship International Vietnam and given the opportunity to "fight" in the Miss Friendship International 2023 contest.

"For over a year, I have been constantly working on improving my skills from catwalk, behavior... to be ready to "export". I am always looking for a beauty contest where I can bring my national cultural identity closer to international friends. Miss Friendship International is such a contest. The organizers promote friendship, honoring the connection between countries and cultures", Miss Nong Thuy Hang shared with Dan Viet.

Miss Vietnam Ethnic Groups 2022 also added that because the contest has a Thai President and will be held in China next October, in addition to English, she is trying to improve her Chinese and Thai to be ready to enter the "race" of the Miss International Friendship 2023 contest.

Referring to participating in a beauty contest outside of the Big 6 (the general name of the 6 largest beauty contests in the world including: Miss World; Miss Universe; Miss International; Miss Earth; Miss Supranational and Miss Grand International), Miss Nong Thuy Hang said: "For me, there is no big or small beauty contest. All beauty contests have the same mission of honoring women's beauty and conveying humane and meaningful messages to the community."

Nong Thuy Hang was born in 1999 in Ha Giang, is of the Tay ethnic group. She was crowned Miss Ethnic Vietnam in July 2022. After being crowned, the beauty from Ha Giang regretted not being able to participate in the Miss Earth 2022 contest. Instead, runner-up Thach Thu Thao was given the opportunity by the Organizing Committee of Miss Ethnic Vietnam to represent Vietnam in the Miss Earth 2022 contest. In 2023, the beauty born in 1999 continued to "miss her chance" with this international beauty arena once again when Miss Earth Vietnam 2023 was held to find a representative for the Miss Earth 2023 contest.

Since being crowned, Miss Nong Thuy Hang has been diligently participating in community and charity activities, carrying out her own projects to promote the national cultural identity to international friends... Not long ago, Nong Thuy Hang announced the project "Colorful wedding costumes of Vietnamese ethnic groups". She carried out a series of activities such as taking fashion photos, organizing exhibitions... to convey the cultural beauty of 54 ethnic groups such as wedding customs, family life, the role of fathers and mothers, and concepts of marriage.

In addition, Miss Nong Thuy Hang actively and diligently participates in entertainment events. Every time she appears, the beauty born in 1999 surprises her fans with her meticulous investment in image and transformation into many different styles. In addition, she also tries her hand at new fields such as hosting, acting, etc.

Currently, the reigning Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2022 graduated with honors in International Business from the National Economics University. Before that, Nong Thuy Hang studied at Ha Giang High School for the Gifted and Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted with 12 years of excellent student achievements. She won third prize in Literature in the National Excellent Student Competition and was directly admitted to the National Economics University. She was also on the list of outstanding ethnic minority students in 2016 to attend the Commendation Ceremony and receive gifts from the President.

Miss Friendship International is a beauty pageant that promotes international friendship among nations for the sake of world peace. The reigning Miss Friendship International is Emilia Dobreva from Serbia. She beat 47 contestants from different countries to take the top spot in the finale held in July 2019 in China.

After a 3-year delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Miss Friendship International 2023 returns and will be held in Chengdu, China this October with the competition of 70 contestants from countries and territories around the world.
