Attending the conference were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD); leaders of Bao Yen district; representatives of departments, offices, branches, and centers under the DARD; representatives of the Department of Agriculture, agricultural extension centers and agricultural services of districts, towns, and cities in the province.

According to the industry's assessment, agricultural, forestry and fishery production in the first 6 months of 2024 achieved good results. The estimated value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production reached 4,375 billion VND, up 3.81%. Of which, agriculture and services grew by 3.4%; forestry grew by 5.19%; fishery grew by 6.46%...
Rural infrastructure has been gradually synchronized; the lives of rural people have been significantly improved. The One Commune One Product (OCOP) program has been widely deployed, becoming a widespread movement with influence in districts and cities, initially increasing the production value of organizations and individuals participating in agricultural production in the province.

Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee continues to be actively and extensively implemented, exploiting the potential and advantages of localities; concentrated commodity production areas have been formed; key crops have been invested in depth, produced according to safe and organic processes, built brands, built growing area codes, developed a traceability system, contributing to improving economic efficiency and competitiveness of agricultural products of the province... Thereby, contributing positively to the overall socio-economic development of Lao Cai province.


At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying the achieved results; difficulties and obstacles in implementing tasks in the first 6 months of the year, proposing solutions to promote agricultural, forestry and fishery production, rural development, new rural construction... in the last 6 months of the year.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Do Van Duy, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province, hoped that localities and relevant agencies would focus on removing difficulties and obstacles in implementing tasks in the fields of agriculture, farmers, rural areas... striving for the growth of the whole sector in 2024 to reach over 4%; the value of products per hectare of cultivated land to reach 98 million VND. In particular, focusing on developing commodity agricultural production; implementing the National Target Program on new rural construction, population arrangement, implementing agricultural projects using capital from National Target Programs, developing agriculture associated with tourism... contributing to promoting the increasingly sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
