(Dan Tri) - From available manure and agricultural waste, people in Nghia Dan district, Nghe An have implemented an organic composting model to serve production and protect the environment.
Environmental pollution caused by household waste is currently a pressing issue in rural areas. In particular, organic waste and livestock waste are not properly treated, causing serious impacts on the environment and aesthetics.
Burning straw in the field is still common, causing harm to the environment and people's lives.

Faced with this situation, people in Nghia Dan district, Nghe An province have implemented a composting model, making fertilizer from manure and organic waste. This model has initially shown clear effectiveness, the amount of manure and household waste has been significantly reduced, while providing a source of fertilizer for crops.
Ms. Ho Thi Thoa's family is one of the pioneers in making on-site organic compost pits.
Ms. Thoa said that producing organic fertilizer from manure and household waste brings many benefits such as reducing farming costs, increasing productivity, and improving soil fertility.

After receiving technical training, Ms. Thoa dug a compost pit and used microorganisms to do it.
Her family uses organic waste such as vegetables, fruit peels, straw, and buffalo dung to make compost. Each batch of compost is about 1.5-2 tons of compost, and can be used after 60 days.
"Thanks to this method, my family's waste volume in the environment has decreased significantly. At the same time, our house has a source of organic fertilizer to help plants grow well, give high value and also improve the soil," Ms. Thoa excitedly said.
Mr. Ha Van Lieu, another resident, also said that composting helps reduce the amount of waste released into the environment and creates a good source of nutrients for plants.

Mr. Phan The Phuong, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Nghia Dan district, said that the organic composting model not only protects the environment but also helps reduce fertilizer costs and increase crop productivity.
"This model creates a ripple effect in the community, contributing to raising awareness of environmental protection, building Nghia Dan district bright - green - clean - beautiful," said Mr. Phuong.
