Le Thi Thu Loan (Trieu Son) is happy to live in the "Red Scarf" house built with financial support from Trieu Son District Youth Union.
Living in a new, spacious and clean house, Le Ba Hung and his family residing in Dong Hoa commune (Thanh Hoa city) could not hide their joy and emotion on the day of the house's inauguration. Talking to us, he excitedly said: "Living and studying in a new house is the dream of me and my family, so today is the happiest and happiest day for me. I am very grateful for the attention, help and support of all levels, sectors and benefactors."
It is known that Le Ba Hung is a good student, always has good results in studying and training but has very difficult circumstances, his family is one of the poor households in the commune. His mother is a worker, raising 3 children. His family lives in a house of less than 30m2, which is seriously degraded but has not had the conditions to repair.
In order to promptly encourage and share the difficulties with her and her family, the Provincial Youth Union and the District Youth Union coordinated with Long Son Cement Company to start construction and hand over the "Red Scarf" house to her family. After more than 2 months of construction, the project has been completed and put into use with an area of 50m2, the total cost of building the house is 164 million VND, of which the Provincial Youth Union and Long Son Cement Company supported 50 million VND in cash; the rest was supported and helped by family and relatives.
In Thieu Hop commune, Thieu Hoa District Youth Union coordinated with Long Son Cement Company to support 50 million to build a "Red Scarf" house for Duong Thi Sao Mai, a student of Thieu Hop Primary School.
It is known that Mai's family is near-poor, the house has only 2 mother and child, no house to live in. After 3 months of construction, the house was completed with a total area of 44m2, including 2 bedrooms, 1 living room.
Phung To Linh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said: "The warm and affectionate "Red Scarf" houses not only give children more strength to continue going to school, but also contribute to education, creating a premise to help them continue to try and strive for a brighter future. The Provincial Youth Union will continue to do a good job of screening students with difficult circumstances; at the same time, connect and call on sponsors and benefactors to have more "Red Scarf" houses to help students in the province."
The movement to build "Red Scarf" houses is a meaningful and practical activity of the Youth Union and Pioneer organizations. With the joint efforts of Youth Union and Pioneer organizations at all levels, sectors, units, and benefactors, in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Pioneer Council have deployed the handover, inauguration, and awarding of support signs to build about 16 "Red Scarf" houses for students in difficult circumstances in the province with a value of more than 1.1 billion VND. This is a meaningful gift that has added strength and motivation for students in difficult circumstances to excel in their studies and life; recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government, and people; at the same time, contributing to educating the tradition of "the rich help the poor", the spirit of national solidarity among youth, teenagers, and children.
