According to an announcement from the Nicaraguan government, this decision comes from Israel's attacks on Palestinian territories, especially in the context of the prolonged conflict in Gaza.

Earlier, the Nicaraguan Congress passed a resolution calling for action to mark the first anniversary of the war in Gaza.
The Nicaraguan government also stressed that the conflict is not limited to Palestine, but has also expanded to Lebanon and seriously threatens other countries such as Syria, Yemen and Iran.
Before Nicaragua, several other countries also severed ties with Israel because of its war in Gaza. Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced in early May that he would cut diplomatic relations with Israel because of its military actions in the Gaza Strip.
On October 31 last year, the Bolivian government said it was cutting diplomatic relations with Israel over Israel's attacks that killed thousands of civilians in the Gaza Strip.
