Special candidates determined to become police academy students

This morning (June 28), more than 1 million candidates nationwide entered the second day of the high school graduation exam. This is also the place where many independent candidates register to take the exam. Among them, there are independent candidates who are police officers and conscripted police officers who are undergoing training and performing duties at police units.

Sharing with PV Dan Viet , candidate Nguyen Truong Quang Huy (from Thai Binh, a volunteer soldier of the People's Public Security Forces under the Mobile Police Command, Ministry of Public Security) assessed that this year's social subjects exam was within his ability, not easy but not too difficult.

Huy predicted that he would get more than 20 points in total for the three subjects Literature, History and Geography. Quang Huy said that he has been in the police force for 2 years.

With the desire to become a professional police officer, during his duty, Huy often reviews the knowledge of grade 12 to prepare for the 2024 high school graduation exam.

Spending time studying while his peers had already passed the entrance exam to their dream school, Quang Huy was stressed and almost forgot all the knowledge he had learned. There were times when this student suffered from insomnia, lack of concentration, excessive anxiety... But thanks to the encouragement of his family, teachers and friends in the army, the male student overcame and rose up.

Whenever he feels unmotivated, Quang Huy will chat with friends, people he always feels comfortable around. Huy confides to feel lighter, sharing with each other to reduce the feeling of pressure. They are also the ones who always give him useful advice, adding positive energy to him.

"This year's exam was easier than the previous years I took the exam. During the exam preparation process, my unit created the best possible conditions for me. In particular, we had 9 days off to prepare for this exam, so we felt very comfortable," Huy said, adding that he wanted to take the exam to enter the People's Police Academy.

Overcome stress, race before important exams

Like Huy, Vu Minh Duc (born in 2003, from Nam Dinh), currently a conscripted police officer at force K02 (Dong Da district), said he chose the C00 subject group to take the entrance exam with the hope of becoming a new student at the People's Police Academy.

Minh Duc confided that 2 years ago, due to not studying carefully and a bit of bad luck, he failed to get into his favorite school, so he chose to do military service to have the opportunity to be considered for further admission.

During his training in the police environment, Duc confided that he always closely followed the textbooks from the smallest notes and memos, diligently read documents from reputable and quality sources, and to easily remember, he studied according to mind maps.

"Every week I test my knowledge with quick tests. I hope to become a new student at the People's Police Academy to serve the Fatherland," Minh Duc shared.

Sharing about the review process in the police environment, Manh confided that he always sticks closely to the textbooks from the smallest notes and memos, diligently reads documents from reputable and quality sources, and to make it easier to remember, he studies according to mind maps. Every week, Manh tests his knowledge with quick tests. Manh predicts that he will get around 7 points in literature, history, and geography.

After finishing the exam, the candidates took turns getting on the van to return to their units to prepare for the final Foreign Language exam of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam taking place in the afternoon of the same day.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2024 High School Graduation Exam recorded 1,067,391 candidates registered to participate, of which the number of independent candidates participating was 45,344. Due to the increase in candidates, the number of exam scores this year also increased to 2,323 exam sites and 45,149 exam rooms.

In Hanoi, the number of independent candidates registering for the exam is more than 4,500, accounting for nearly 10% of the total number of independent candidates nationwide.

Among them, there are independent candidates who are police officers and conscripted police officers who are undergoing training and performing duties at police units.

To ensure the rights and improve the high school graduation exam results of independent candidates, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has requested high schools to provide information and create maximum convenience in supporting candidates in reviewing and participating in the exam.

4 conditions for conscripted police officers to be considered for direct transfer to professional service:

Firstly, having 2 years of performing military service in the People's Public Security is classified as a "Good Mission Completion" or higher conscript soldier, achieving the title of "Advanced Soldier".

Second, being a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam before the end of his/her military service (admitted to the Party before or while performing his/her obligation to join the People's Public Security Forces).

Third, the scores of 3 subjects (without coefficient) for professional transfer registration are determined based on the results of the National High School Exam during the time the non-commissioned officer serves in the military or the results of the National High School Exam in the year the non-commissioned officer graduates from high school with 15 points or more.

In addition, if a conscript has a university degree of Good or higher but does not meet other conditions for direct admission, he/she will still be given priority points for having a university degree to be considered for professional transfer along with other conscripts according to regulations, creating more opportunities and choices for conscripts in considering professional transfer.
