CHINA DAILY. China plans to expand the Tiangong space station , aiming to provide astronauts from other countries with a new location to replace NASA's International Space Station, which is about to expire.
KYODO. Japan has begun the second release of treated radioactive wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean, after the first release was carried out within safety limits from August 24 to September 11.
YONHAP. South Korean authorities will begin a crackdown on foreigners residing or working illegally from October 9 to December 9.
KOREA TIMES. South Korea plans to launch a pilot project for its central bank digital currency (CBDC) to evaluate its potential use in digital payments.
BERNAMA. More than 2,300 military personnel from five countries participating in the Five Power Defense Arrangements (FPDA - including Malaysia, Singapore, the UK, Australia and New Zealand) are participating in the Bersama Lima 2023 exercise.
TEMPO. Indonesian Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo has submitted his resignation to President Joko Widodo, as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) steps up its investigation into a corruption case at the ministry.
ADB. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $300 million policy-based loan to support the Philippine government in building a stronger policy and institutional environment.
BANGKOK POST. Thai police have arrested three men accused of selling guns and ammunition to the suspect in the deadly shooting at Siam Paragon shopping mall in Bangkok on October 3.
KHMER TIMES. In the first nine months of the year, Cambodia recorded 21,568 cases of dengue fever , an increase of 184% compared to 7,597 cases in the same period last year.
ISNA. A site containing 10 million-year-old animal fossils has been discovered in the northwestern Iranian province of East Azarbaijan.

REUTERS. Azerbaijan is ready to take part in a trilateral meeting in Brussels between Azerbaijan, Armenia and the EU, Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev said on social media.
REUTERS. On the first day of random checks at the border with Slovakia, Czech police detected and arrested 69 illegal migrants and four suspected human traffickers.

ANADOLU. The Turkish air force has destroyed 58 more targets belonging to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) - an armed group outlawed by Ankara - in northern Iraq.
BBC. The UK's communications regulator Ofcom has asked the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to investigate the possibility that two technology groups Amazon and Microsoft have begun withdrawing troops from Niger, as relations between Paris and the West African country have become strained following a coup last July.

AP. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and his Japanese counterpart Minoru Kihara confirmed their shared interests in strengthening the alliance in the current security environment.

AHRAM. Egypt and C2X, a subsidiary of Danish shipping services group Maersk, have signed a new framework agreement worth up to $3 billion to produce green fuel and its derivatives in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
XINHUA. Algeria and Tunisia signed 26 agreements at the 22nd meeting of the Joint Cooperation Committee in Algiers, co-chaired by Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane and his Tunisian counterpart Ahmed Hachani.

ABC. Australia will rejoin the UN Climate Fund , in a bid to ease climate change concerns among its Pacific neighbours, five years after it froze its contributions to the fund.
