DHAKA TRIBUNE. Bangladesh has received a shipment of uranium nuclear fuel for use in its first nuclear power plant , with financial support from Russia (a loan covering 90% of the total construction cost).

REUTERS. Azerbaijan is ready to take part in a trilateral meeting in Brussels between Azerbaijan, Armenia and the EU, Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev said on social media.

REUTERS. On the first day of random checks at the border with Slovakia, Czech police detected and arrested 69 illegal migrants and four suspected human traffickers.

The UK's communications regulator Ofcom has asked the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to investigate the possibility that two technology groups Amazon and Microsoft have begun withdrawing troops from Niger, as relations between Paris and the West African country have become strained following a coup last July.

America

AP. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and his Japanese counterpart Minoru Kihara confirmed their shared interests in strengthening the alliance in the current security environment.

AHRAM. Egypt and C2X, a subsidiary of Danish shipping services group Maersk, have signed a new framework agreement worth up to $3 billion to produce green fuel and its derivatives in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

XINHUA. Algeria and Tunisia signed 26 agreements at the 22nd meeting of the Joint Cooperation Committee in Algiers, co-chaired by Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane and his Tunisian counterpart Ahmed Hachani.

Oceania

ABC. Australia will rejoin the UN Climate Fund , in a bid to ease climate change concerns among its Pacific neighbours, five years after it froze its contributions to the fund.
