According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the low pressure trough connecting with the hot low pressure area in the West continues to develop and expand to the Southeast. Above, the subtropical high pressure with an axis through the South Central - South regions is weak and gradually recedes to the East. It is forecasted that from April 17-20, East wind disturbances (causing rain) will tend to develop in the region.

Specifically, during the day, districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, Phu Nhuan, ... will have local heat with the highest temperature of about 35 degrees Celsius, especially in Binh Tan district and Hoc Mon district, the heat can reach 36 degrees Celsius.

In the late afternoon and night (from about 4pm to 7pm), some areas in Ho Chi Minh City are forecast to have rain, including District 12, Go Vap, Binh Tan and Hoc Mon and Binh Chanh districts. The Southern Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that these will be localized rains in a small area, with small amounts of rain, ending quickly and the probability of rain is about 60%.
Yesterday (April 17), heat waves continued to occur widely in the Southeast region, with some areas experiencing severe heat, but the intensity of the heat wave decreased compared to 24 hours ago. The heat wave in the Western provinces began to ease.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the heat wave will continue to be widespread, and in the next 48 hours, the heat wave will likely narrow in scope and decrease in intensity. The highest temperature in the Southern region is from 35-37 degrees, with some places above 37 degrees.
Around April 20-21, heat waves are likely to increase again in this area.
“Due to the effects of heat, the humidity in the air is low, so there is a risk of explosions, fires in residential areas and forest fires. In addition, heat can also cause dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke in the human body when exposed to high temperatures for a long time” - the Southern Hydrometeorological Station warned.
