In mid-October, at the training ground of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command in Krong Na Commune, Buon Don District, there were prolonged rains. Corporal Ngo Van Trong and his teammates of the Firepower Squad of the 2nd Infantry Company used excavators to dig up rocks and soil to build up embankments to prevent floods from flowing into the trenches and to reinforce the foundations of fixed targets. After many hours of rain, their bodies were soaked with water. Corporal Ngo Van Trong said that he and his teammates constantly trained, improved their political skills, continued training to improve their technical and tactical skills and combat readiness.

Corporal Ngo Van Trong said: “The company is training in tactics for the attacking squad, the defending platoon and the attacking company to retake the fort in a simulated situation. The company trains every day, with a very high fighting spirit, ready to fight to protect the Fatherland.”

Infantry Company 2 was established on January 1, 1991, formerly Infantry Company 2, Battalion 697 under the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command. As one of two infantry companies of the Provincial Military Command stationed at the border, Company 2 is the main infantry unit protecting the border of Ea Sup district. In harsh weather conditions with continuous floods in the rainy season and drought in the dry season in the border area, the company maintains its forces and equipment at high combat readiness. In 2020 and 2023, the company achieved the title of Determined to Win unit, being a clean and strong company for many consecutive years. Currently, officers and soldiers of the company are focusing on training, striving to compete, completing tasks, and achieving achievements towards celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22).

Buon Don and Ea Sup are two border districts of Dak Lak province. The whole area has over 11,000 households, with over 25,000 people, and 29 ethnic groups living together. This is an area with harsh climate, arid land, and frequent natural disasters. People's lives are still difficult and arduous. Village elder Y Thung Kdoh in Tri village, Krong Na commune, Buon Don district said that in recent years, Infantry Company 5 has been very active in supporting people with social security work and rescue when natural disasters occur.
