Doan Thi Diem Primary School (Hanoi) announced that it would not allow students to bring dangerous toys or sharp objects to school or class. If students intentionally bring inappropriate toys or objects, the school will confiscate them and not return them.
According to the school, Halloween is a traditional holiday in Western countries. The school does not organize Halloween decorations. Therefore, parents do not let their children dress up as horror characters. Some content related to Halloween, students will learn in English class.

A kindergarten in Bac Ninh City also decided not to decorate or organize Halloween-related activities. Instead, the school encouraged parents to let their children wear their favorite costumes, and even put on makeup to transform into fairy tale characters.
To ensure the safety of the children and those around them, the principal of this school also asked parents not to let students wear scary costumes to school and absolutely forbid carrying dangerous hand-held objects.
Tran Van On Primary School in Binh Duong only organizes activities such as making masks and receiving cute candies so that students can learn more about the culture, customs, and festivals of other countries.
Many parents are pleased and supportive when schools ban Halloween celebrations.
Ms. Phan Hong Ly (Hanoi) shared: “The frequent appearance of horror and ghost images will not arouse love, but will only cause fear, obsession, and consequences such as crimes and shocking cases that will become more and more common. I completely agree with schools strictly implementing the ban on organizing this festival.”
When she received the news that her child's school would not be holding Halloween like last year, she breathed a sigh of relief because she did not have to worry about what to dress up her child in or where to buy the costumes. Each costume for a cartoon character such as a superhero, princess, witch, etc. costs 1-2 million VND each time.
Parent Tran Ly (Da Nang City) once witnessed her children screaming when they saw their friend being made up by the teacher in a scary way. After that, she decided to transfer her children to another school.
She was surprised when the school changed the way it made the Halloween event suitable for children. Instead of creating a sense of fear, this year's festival reminded children of the power of each character in the comic book and the magical ability to connect the world in books with the outside world.
As an English teacher at a kindergarten in Hanoi, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung analyzed that the children are still young and do not yet understand the meaning of the festival. In previous years, the school still organized Halloween so that the children could experience the costume festival. However, witnessing the children's fear and lack of enthusiasm in the devilish costumes, the school decided to stop organizing this festival.
"This year, the school did not organize Halloween decorations and activities, which was supported by many parents. It was not too heavy a movement, but also helped children have the right mindset about this Western holiday," said the teacher.
