In the list of nominees for Best Feature Film this year, it is worth noting that there are many films that have grossed over 100 billion VND, which "made waves" at the box office last year. Among them, we can mention Tran Thanh's House of Mrs. Nu - the film with the "biggest" revenue in Vietnamese cinema to date, with 475 billion VND.
Released during the Lunar New Year, Mrs. Nu's House not only "bombed" the box office but also won in two categories: Best Vietnamese Film and Best Director at the recent Da Nang Asian International Film Festival.

Although Mrs. Nu's House impressed with many achievements, the remaining films on the nomination list are not far behind. Sister Sister 2 by director Vu Ngoc Dang is considered one of the strong competitors of Mrs. Nu's House .
With a dramatic plot revolving around the legend of two famous beauties of Saigon in the 20th century, Ba Tra (played by Minh Hang) and Tu Nhi (played by Ngoc Trinh), Chi Chi Em Em 2 has brought in revenue of more than 120 billion VND. Besides the domestic market, the film is also shown in the US, Australia, Japan, and Korea.
Not only that, at the 2023 Osaka Asian Film Festival, Sister Sister 2 received 3 nominations including: ABC TV Award, Yakushi Pearl Award (award for best actor), Audience Award (award for best film voted by the audience).

This year's nominations also include Super LEADER Meets Super LEADER directed by Vo Thanh Hoa with a revenue of 121 billion VND. In addition, Em va Trinh directed by Phan Gia Nhat Linh with a revenue of over 100 billion VND is also on the list, despite the film's controversial content.

It can be said that Tran Thanh's "Nha Ba Nu" has the advantage of both achieving media effects and being at the top in terms of revenue. However, many audiences believe that revenue and popularity are just one of the factors for experts to consider and award, not the deciding factor.
