In recent years, thanks to the active response and support of agencies, units, businesses, philanthropists, children living far from home, and the efforts of the entire political system, thousands of poor households, near-poor households, and families in difficult circumstances in Vu Quang district have had the opportunity to improve their lives.
In 2023, Vu Quang district mobilized more than 2,000 gifts, with a total value of more than 1 billion VND, given to poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households.
However, the district still has many poor households that need the support and help of the community. Vu Quang district has called on all cadres, party members, civil servants, workers, people, and children living far from home... to take practical actions, providing spiritual and material support to help poor and disadvantaged households improve their lives.

In the program "Spring of Charity - Tet for the Poor", Vu Quang district mobilized 950 million VND (equivalent to 1,920 gifts) from units, businesses, and philanthropists to support the poor to have a warm Tet Giap Thin 2024. Of which, BIDV Ha Tinh supported 320 gifts, worth 160 million VND; Victory Group supported 100 gifts, worth 25 million VND; Southern Ha Tinh Business Association supported 50 gifts, worth 25 million VND; Lee & Man Vietnam Paper Company Limited supported 400 gifts, worth 200 million VND;
Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation supports 150 gifts, worth 90 million VND; Xuan Thinh Production and Trading Investment Company Limited (Ninh Binh) supports 600 gifts, worth 300 million VND; Provincial Fund for the Poor supports 300 gifts, worth 150 million VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of Vu Quang District Party Committee Nguyen Thi Viet Ha expressed her deep gratitude for the sharing and kindness of the donors for the poor and disadvantaged people in the district. This practical support has been accompanying the local Party Committee and government to do a good job in social security work.
At the program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and the delegation presented Tet gifts to poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households in Vu Quang district. At the same time, they hoped that the families would strive to overcome difficulties and improve their lives; join hands with the district to achieve goals and tasks, especially in building new rural areas.

∗ Previously, Chairman of the People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and the working delegation visited and wished Mr. Le Van Nhung (born in 1950, in village 8, Duc Bong commune) a happy new year. Mr. Nhung was a resistance fighter who was exposed to toxic chemicals. He is currently in poor health and has suffered a stroke and cannot walk.

The delegation also visited and wished longevity to Mrs. Le Thi Cam (born in 1934, village 5, Duc Bong commune). This year, Mrs. Cam turns 90 years old, is currently in good health and living alone.
