Many people do not support, but the Vietnamese team is more determined

Coach Troussier said he regularly monitors public opinion about the team. The coach believes that many people do not like him and some players in the team, but that is not an issue that puts pressure on him.

"I only care about professional matters and the performance of the players. The past is the past, and the present and future are mysteries that we look forward to.

The fact that many people do not support us only motivates us to be more determined, to do what we want to do, the players understand and respond with the highest determination for the flag and the shirt. We are very united. With such solidarity between teachers and students, I believe we will achieve the best results," Coach Troussier emphasized.

The Vietnam national team announced a preliminary list of 30 players for the 2023 Asian Cup. Among them, many veteran players such as Nguyen Tien Linh, Que Ngoc Hai, and Nguyen Hoang Duc will not participate due to not recovering from injuries. Coach Philippe Troussier also used many young players from the U23 team in the upcoming tournament.

The French coach assessed the squad to Qatar as the best possible in the current situation. Mr. Troussier said: "Each player selected has his own contribution depending on the role. I arrange many formations, tactics and have choices depending on the opponent and the nature of the match.

I have worked with many players for the past 8 months. I believe that in case of any injury, there will be someone else to replace them. This squad going to Qatar is the most reasonable squad at the moment. I don't want people to see these as replacement players, second-rate players. I consider these as first-rate players of Vietnam."

The Vietnamese team will finalize the list of 26 players on January 13, one day before the match against Japan. Coach Troussier assessed that the Vietnamese team has little chance of causing a surprise against this opponent. At the same time, he hopes the team will achieve good results in the key match against Indonesia.

Regarding the approach in the next 3 matches, Mr. Troussier affirmed that the team will still play the same way. That is, playing proactively, limiting passive play, relying on luck.

" Factors like luck and waiting for the opponent to make a mistake are part of football, but I want the team to increase their control. To do that, they must be confident in controlling the ball. If they dare to play confidently, when the opponent chases them, they will not easily lose ," the head coach of the Vietnam team expressed.

The Vietnamese team will leave for Qatar tomorrow morning, January 5. The team will play a friendly match with Kyrgyzstan on January 9 before entering the tournament.
