"Digital transformation is an inevitable trend"
On the morning of October 6, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province held a conference to promote and respond to the National Digital Transformation Day and the Digital Transformation Day of Bac Kan province in 2023. The conference was held online from the province to the commune level with the participation of representatives of departments, branches, and representatives of the provincial leadership.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dang Binh emphasized that digital transformation is an inevitable trend, no longer a choice but a must-do. " Digital transformation is an opportunity for Vietnam to make a breakthrough to become a developed country, fundamentally and comprehensively innovating the management and operation of the Government, the operations of agencies, organizations and enterprises; changing the way people live and work and the whole society based on digital technology" , the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
Not only responding to the National Digital Transformation Day, the Conference also aims to find solutions to raise awareness of digital transformation, especially awareness of the importance of digital data among civil servants, public employees, students, union members, people and businesses. Raising awareness will contribute to positive actions of people and businesses participating in digital transformation in the coming time.

From the perspective of digital transformation and digital data, Dr. Tran Minh Tan, Deputy Director in charge of the Institute of Strategy, Ministry of Information and Communications, pointed out the opportunities and challenges of the 4.0 revolution. “ Digital transformation is not about buying tools to automate old processes but about changing the way of working, changing the process ,” Dr. Tran Minh Tan analyzed.
Discussing and orienting the development of digital data in Bac Kan, Dr. Tran Minh Tan suggested that data on culture and tourism is one of the priorities the province needs to focus on developing early. Commune and ward levels play a particularly important role in digital transformation, in which the core is the activities of community digital technology groups.
Concluding the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dang Binh expressed his hope that each cadre, civil servant, public employee, citizen and enterprise would be more aware of the role, significance and importance of digital transformation, thereby taking practical and specific actions to actively contribute to promoting digital transformation in the province, creating development values and bringing benefits to the locality, businesses and people.
Many diverse activities in response to National Digital Transformation Day
Besides the propaganda conference, activities in response to National Digital Transformation Day and Bac Kan Provincial Digital Transformation Day took place very richly and excitingly in the province.
Accordingly, the province launched a 100-day peak campaign to “Improve the efficiency of providing and using online public services” and piloted digital transformation in 8 communes and wards in the province. The first content was to launch a campaign to raise funds and support smartphones for people in these communes and wards.
The program aims to help adults in general and households in particular living in 8 communes and wards piloting digital transformation have the opportunity to learn about and access information and science and technology applications, and online public services. The program starts in August 2023 and lasts until the end of 2023.
In addition, there is also an online contest "Learn about Digital Transformation in Bac Kan Province" in 2023, taking place from September 10 to September 30, 2023. The contest attracted a large number of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and people to participate with many attractive prizes. The dissemination and communication of the identity of National Digital Transformation Day (October 10) through displaying the identity of National Digital Transformation Day on the Website/Portal of agencies and localities is directed and widely implemented, creating high spread.

The closing ceremony and award ceremony of the online contest "Learn about digital transformation" in 2023 took place on October 6, within the framework of the Propaganda Conference, responding to the National Digital Transformation Day and the Digital Transformation Day of Bac Kan province in 2023. The contest attracted the participation of 21,217 contestants, including officials, civil servants, employees, workers, armed forces and people in the province. Finally, the awards were given to 21 outstanding collectives and 62 individuals participating in the contest.
