According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway, many agricultural and rural development projects in Hai Duong province were affected.
Regarding the dike project, the railway intersects three dike routes: the right dike of Van Uc in Vinh Cuong commune (Thanh Ha); the left and right dikes of Thai Binh in Chi Minh commune (Tu Ky) and Thanh Hong commune (Thanh Ha).
For the irrigation works managed and exploited by Bac Hung Hai Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd., the railway intersects two canals: Kim Son and Dinh Dao in Phuc Dien commune (Cam Giang); Vinh Hung, Long Xuyen (Binh Giang); Yet Kieu (Gia Loc) and about 29 irrigation works including pumping stations, irrigation canals, etc.
The route affects 90 other irrigation works in Gia Loc, Cam Giang, Tu Ky, Binh Giang districts and 45 aquaculture works, 8 intra-field roads of Gia Loc district.
The total cost of relocation and refund (provisional) is about 300 billion VND. For projects across dykes and canals, only the refund and reinforcement of the roof, dyke banks and canals are calculated, not the construction of bridges.
According to the pre-feasibility study report, the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway Project, the section through Hai Duong is 40.96 km long, using more than 187.8 hectares of land.
