TEMPO. Indonesian authorities announced that they found the wreckage of a helicopter that went missing a day earlier in a forest in Halmahera Tengah, North Maluku province, all three people on board were killed.

ANTARA. Indonesia's national counter-terrorism agency has launched seven priority programs this year to build community resilience and raise awareness of extremist and violent ideology among terrorists.

KHMER TIMES. Cambodia is reviewing its “Comprehensive Multimodal Master Plan” (CIT-MP) for the next 10 years, which highlights the need for about US$36.6 billion to build priority infrastructure projects.

VIENTIANE TIMES. Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith received Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko in Vientiane, agreeing on the need to strengthen cooperation in finance, banking, tourism, culture, education, health, security and mutual support at regional and international forums.

CHINESE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE. The Chinese and Indian militaries have just held a "constructive" meeting in the Chushul-Moldo border area, agreeing to maintain communication through military and diplomatic channels.

KOREA TIMES. Gangwon Province, South Korea, is implementing a four-day workweek policy that could boost productivity by allowing workers to engage in more leisure activities, according to Governor Kim Jin-tae.

KYODO. Japan summoned the South Korean ambassador to Tokyo over Japanese shipbuilder Hitachi Zosen's payment of compensation to a Korean victim of wartime forced labor.

JAPAN TIMES. The number of foreign visitors to Japan in January increased 79.5% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching about 2.69 million , equivalent to the level of January 2019 before the Covid-19 outbreak.

PTI. Indian farmers resume protests after rejecting government's five-year minimum support price (MSP) contract proposal.

IRNA. Chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami invited Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi to attend Iran's first international nuclear energy conference in May.

SYRIAN STATE TV. Israel has carried out a new airstrike on a residential area in the Syrian capital Damascus, killing at least two people.

ARAB NEWS. At the opening ceremony of the Saudi Arabia Media Forum , the host country launched the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Media Center and the Artificial Intelligence Camp for the Future of Media.

FRANCE 24. France respects the "One China" policy and is willing to strengthen strategic coordination to jointly safeguard peace and stability, President Emmanuel Macron received Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

AFP. Spanish farmers drove hundreds of tractors into Madrid to protest unfair competition with non-EU partners.

ANADOLU. The KAAN, Turkey's first domestically produced fighter jet , has made its maiden flight - part of the country's efforts to upgrade its air force.

DW. German police are taking part in an operation run by the EU's agency for law enforcement cooperation (Europol), conducting raids in four German states against human trafficking gangs.

EURO NEWS. EU lawmakers have reached a provisional agreement on setting up an EU-level Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF) to accelerate carbon neutrality targets.

AP. The EU and Guatemala signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral consultations in Brussels between EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and Guatemalan Foreign Minister Carlos Ramiro Martínez Alvarado.

AFP. The EU removed the Bahamas (in the Caribbean), the Seychelles (East Africa) and two other jurisdictions, the Turks and Caicos Islands (British overseas territories) from its blacklist of " tax havens ".

REUTERS. Belgium, which holds the rotating EU presidency, said the bloc has agreed on a 13th package of sanctions against Russia over its military campaign in Ukraine.

TASS. The Russian State Duma (lower house) voted to abolish the fisheries agreement with the United Kingdom, signed in 1956 between the Soviet Union and Britain.

“This agreement is largely one-sided and there are no similar or commensurate benefits for the Russian Federation in it,” the Russian legislature explained. (Russian State Duma)

NEW ARAB. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, amid a diplomatic crisis between the South American country and Israel over the war in Gaza.

CNN. The US government is offering a reward of up to $15 million for information that helps identify or locate the leader of the Lockbit cybercrime network, which specializes in ransomware attacks that take control of data for ransom.

REUTERS. The G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting took place from February 21-22 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), discussing conflicts around the world and ways to reform multilateral organizations.

NBC NEWS. The Mexican government is trying to find a solution to curb the growing wave of Mexicans seeking asylum in Canada, at the request of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

AP. The National Liberation Army (ELN) armed group in Colombia announced its withdrawal from peace talks with the government, citing a lack of compliance with the ground rules established when the process began in 2022.

WOAH. Peru has reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza at an egg-laying hen farm in La Libertad province, the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) said.

Africa

AFP. Russia has completed the delivery of 200,000 tonnes of grain aid to six African countries as pledged by President Vladimir Putin last year.

ACMA. More Australians are choosing social media as their main source of news, instead of online news sites, according to a recent report by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).
