(Dan Tri) - The price to buy a tael of SJC gold ring is currently less than 9 million VND. In the past 9 months, there are banks that pay employees an average income of up to 48 million VND/month, equivalent to buying more than 5 taels of gold each month.
To date, a series of banks have announced their financial reports for the third quarter of 2024. One of the information of interest is the average salary and income of employees in this industry.
According to financial reports, banks with the highest profits do not necessarily pay the highest salaries to their employees.
Vietcombank continues to top the profit chart this quarter. Following are Techcombank, BIDV, MB, VietinBank, ACB…
But if we look at the information on the financial report, Techcombank employees are the champions in terms of income in the banking industry in the past 9 months.
Specifically, each employee of this bank in the first 3 quarters of the year received an average income of 41 million VND/month, 3 million VND higher than the same period last year. Including allowances and other income, the average income of employees working at this bank in the past 9 months reached 48 million VND/month, the highest in the banking system.
At the end of September, Techcombank had a total of 10,696 employees. The bank spent nearly VND4,700 billion on salaries and allowances for its employees.
The price to buy a tael of SJC gold ring is currently less than 9 million VND. Thus, the monthly salary of an employee here can buy 5 taels of gold.
MB ranked second with an average employee income of VND47.3 million/month. As of September 30, MB had 11,534 employees. The bank spent VND4,910 billion on salaries, allowances and benefits for employees.
Following are the banks in the Big 4 group (the 4 banks with the largest state capital). VietinBank pays 42.4 million VND/person/month, an increase of 9 million VND compared to the same period last year. BIDV also pays 41 million VND/person/month, also an increase of 9 million VND.
Vietcombank employees receive an average income of 40.5 million VND/person/month, an increase of 2.5 million VND compared to the previous quarter and 3.5 million VND higher than the same period last year. This bank is the champion in profit for 9 months with over 31,500 billion VND.
Some other banks that pay employees over 40 million VND include ACB and HDBank.
Specifically, at ACB, the third quarter financial report shows that as of September 30, the number of employees of the parent bank was 12,683. The bank allocated VND4,710 billion to pay employee expenses. The average income of employees of this private bank is equivalent to VND41.2 million/month.
As of the end of September, HDBank had a total of 10,302 employees. The average employee income is 40 million VND/month.
The remaining banks showed that bank employees' income was below 40 million VND/person/month, but all recorded an increase of 1-3 million VND compared to the same period last year.

On the contrary, LPBank employees suffered a decrease in income when the average employee income reached 22.3 million VND/person/month, a decrease of 1.9 million VND compared to the same period.
Or at VIB, the average income (plus allowances and other income) of this bank's employees is 31.4 million VND/month in 9 months, down about 1 million VND compared to the same period last year.
However, it should be noted that the above figures are statistics on average income from salary and allowances. Depending on each position, banks will have different salary and bonus regimes and often have large differences.
The reason is that banks usually pay salaries based on seniority, target completion level, characteristics between departments within the bank and even between operational activities and the overall performance of each branch...
In addition, along with salaries and bonuses, many banks will have additional issuances of preferential shares for employees at prices much cheaper than the stock price on the stock exchange...
