Take advantage of every opportunity
According to Ukrinform , after meeting with his Georgian counterpart Salome Zourabichvili, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation and security challenges. He informed about Russian airstrikes on Ukraine's energy sector, stressing that Kiev is making every effort to restore energy production.
The Ukrainian leader thanked President Zourabichvili for attending the conference, stressing that it was very important for Kiev, and expressed confidence that the two countries would together become members of the EU. Likewise, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba met with High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell on the sidelines of the conference.
The Ukrainian diplomat thanked Borrell for his successful efforts to encourage countries around the world to attend the peace summit. Kuleba said both sides welcomed the adoption of the negotiating framework, which paves the way for Ukraine’s EU accession talks to begin in earnest. The two leaders also coordinated efforts to increase and accelerate arms supplies to Ukraine, with a focus on air defense systems and ammunition.
Earlier on the evening of June 14, the permanent representatives of the EU member states accepted the main points of the framework for negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova. The decision of the EU ambassadors means that an intergovernmental conference will be held on June 25 to formally negotiate the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU.
According to AP , Hungary, at the permanent representative level, blocked the decision, claiming that Ukraine had “not made enough progress towards national minorities.” However, Budapest lifted its veto after receiving assurances that their demands would be included in the negotiating framework.

Find the solution formula
According to the Moscow Times , Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he would present to Moscow a proposal to end the conflict after it was agreed upon by the international community.
Mr Zelensky pledged in his speech at the summit, expressing hope that the summit would lay the foundations for a “just and lasting” solution with Russia, stressing: “We must decide together what a just peace means for the world and how to achieve it in a lasting way. Then the decision will be communicated to the Russian representatives, so that at the second peace summit we can put a real end to the conflict.”
However, President Zelensky did not mention the possibility of being ready to negotiate directly with Russian President Putin.
Ahead of the summit, Mr Putin laid out conditions for ending the conflict. He called on Kiev to withdraw its troops from southern and eastern Ukraine and abandon its ambitions to join NATO, conditions that Mr Zelensky immediately rejected.
US Vice President Kamala Harris told the conference about Russian President Putin's demands that "he is not calling for negotiations, he is calling for surrender." Western leaders have pledged support for Ukraine and stressed the need to resolve the conflict on Ukraine's terms.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stressed that freezing the current conflict with “foreign troops in Ukraine” is not the solution. She also warned that “in fact, it is a recipe for continued conflicts in the future.” However, some countries outside Ukraine’s traditional partner orbit, such as Saudi Arabia and Kenya, have also criticized the recent G7 agreement to provide Ukraine with a $50 billion loan using profits from Russian assets frozen abroad.
The first-ever peace summit opened on the same day in the Swiss resort of Burgenstok. Delegates will discuss nuclear security, food security and humanitarian issues including a prisoner exchange and the return of forcibly displaced Ukrainian children.
The conference, which was initiated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, is primarily aimed at laying the foundation for further negotiations on ending the conflict in Ukraine. According to the organizers, the conference will be attended by about 100 countries and organizations, including about 57 heads of state and government.
