Supporting his daughter's pursuit of music, singer-songwriter Duy Manh and Cam met with the press on the afternoon of May 29. He acted in Cam's school music video "Love or Not Love " as a gym teacher.
Cam was born in 2000, studied piano at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music and studied abroad in Rome, Italy. She appeared in Times Square (USA) in Spotify's EQUAL campaign.
Holding the songs "No one expected", "Rain, don't fall", "Don't take me around in circles"...
Stay away from showbiz because of many negative aspects
For a long time, Duy Manh has been proactively keeping his distance from showbiz because he sees many negative aspects. Regarding the issue of artists doing charity work, he has spoken out because he has had experience.
Duy Manh gave an example of a charity football match 10 years ago, sponsored by a business. The program collected 100 million VND, but the showbiz group spent only 5 million VND, then bought more instant noodles to give to people and took photos to prove that it was a charity event.
"I was also involved so I have some responsibility, I feel it's not right. So I will avoid it in the future" - he said.

Duy Manh added about the negative side of showbiz: "The competition of the previous generation of showbiz had tricks, from the size of the images on posters, some people gave money to the organizers to put other people's images below theirs.
I'm straightforward, I told the show organizer to put my picture anywhere, or not, as long as they paid me in full.
He said jealousy and envy have always existed, but young people his daughter's age today are more civilized, compete fiercely but also help each other wholeheartedly.
The reason Duy Manh doesn't make his children sing his songs
Duy Manh admits to being conservative, but he doesn't force his daughter to sing and listen to his music like many other parents.
He understood that songs like Kiep do den (Red and Black Life) would make girls look very old if they sang them. Cam once sang Tinh em la dai duong (Your Love is the Ocean) , but Duy Manh realized that the girl didn't really like it, but only to please her father.
Therefore, he encouraged Cam to make music suitable for her age and generation.

At first, he did not support his son to become a singer because he wanted Cam to be a music teacher. But when he saw that his son was really passionate about it, he fully supported it.
After many arguments, the musician apologized to his daughter because he misunderstood the current music market.
"20 years ago, a singer only needed one successful song to become famous.
"People will come to you when they watch your videos. There are only a few music centers and tea rooms. If you put up a banner, the audience will come," Duy Manh said.
Nowadays, there are many singers, records and performance centers. The level of competition is also greater. Singers have to build a good image to have fans.
Duy Manh admits that the audience who likes his music now is mainly from the 70s and 80s. He admits that in the past he sang "cheesy" songs with vibrato and moaning, but now he sings more concisely and in a more innovative way.
Singer Cam shared: "My music is greatly influenced by my father. I like jazz and classical music, which are the things my father taught me. Later, when I studied abroad in Italy, I also liked R&B...
When I was making music, I was afraid that my father wouldn't understand me. But after listening to it, he told me that I did a very good job, so I should focus on the product and try to develop it."
