Mr. Tran Ngoc Lam, Dong Do area, Binh Khe ward (Dong Trieu city), shared: This year, my family planted and cared for over 1,500 Yen Tu yellow apricot trees to serve the Tet market. The weather this year is very harsh, especially due to the impact of storm No. 3. However, to proactively protect and care for the trees, the family has stepped up measures to protect, care for, prune and stimulate the trees. There is still more than 1 month left until Tet, however, the cold air is also increasing, which will greatly affect the blooming of the apricot trees. The family is actively warming and stimulating to ensure the apricot trees have the best quality and beauty before bringing them to the market. Currently, many customers have come to order and ask for care so that the flowers bloom in time for Tet.

Ms. Vu Thi Hue's flower garden in Doc Man area, which grows chrysanthemums, lilies, gladiolus, etc., is also growing well. To have beautiful, large, brightly colored flowers that bloom at the right time, Ms. Hue uses a dark greenhouse to limit light... Ms. Hue said: Based on experience, we have calculated the right time for the plants to be harvested on the occasion of Lunar New Year. Compared to previous years, this year's flower plants are still growing very well, blooming on time. The plants are healthy, the leaves are lush, and the quality meets the needs of playing and decorating for Tet. However, the price of flowers this year has increased slightly compared to previous years due to the partial influence of the weather.

Currently, the total area of flowers and ornamental plants in Dong Trieu City is over 256 hectares, an increase of about 20% compared to last year. In the area, there are many areas growing typical flowers and ornamental plants such as peach, kumquat, apricot, lily, lily, gladiolus... The types of flowers and ornamental plants are very diverse, rich and eye-catching. Mr. Le Quoc Ruyen, Head of the Economic Department of Dong Trieu City, said: To prepare well for the flower and ornamental plant warehouse for Tet, Dong Trieu City has increased coordination with the Central Institute of Vegetables and Fruits to restore some flower varieties such as lily, lily, gladiolus... for farmers to grow to serve the Tet market. To work with the people to keep flowers and ornamental plants blooming on time for Tet, the professional agency has now sent staff to coordinate with communes and wards to plant more peach and kumquat, instructing people to limit watering to slow down the blooming of flowers and ripening of fruits faster and using some other substances and scientific measures to slow down the plants.

Flower and ornamental plant growing has also brought stable income to many farmers in Ha Long City in recent years. This year, the area of flower and ornamental plant growing in Ha Long City is about 95 hectares, concentrated in Le Loi, Son Duong, Hoanh Bo... The types of flowers and ornamental plants are very diverse, rich, and eye-catching with many types of flowers such as: Chrysanthemum, lily, orchid, dahlia, primrose... On the occasion of Lunar New Year, people's demand for flowers and ornamental plants increases, so garden owners also proactively introduce new varieties, apply science and technology, and prepare abundant sources of flowers and ornamental plants. Ms. Le Thi Trach, Zone 5, Hoanh Bo Ward (Ha Long City), said: This year, Tet flowers and ornamental plants are of good quality, rich in variety, and diverse in design. My family has prepared more than 10,000 plants of all kinds to serve Lunar New Year.

Up to this point, the flowers are growing well, with strong, plump stems, thick, fresh petals and many eye-catching colors. The flower products supplied to the market are also rich, diverse and have many designs and sizes. The price of orchids this year ranges from 120,000 - 150,000 VND/plant, no increase compared to previous years. This year, we plan to supply over 10,000 orchids of all kinds to the market.

According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province currently has about 390 hectares of flower growing areas with varieties such as: gladiolus, lilies, chrysanthemums, orchids...; mainly concentrated in the localities of Dong Trieu, Ha Long, Quang Yen... The area for growing ornamental plants, oranges, grapefruits, peaches, kumquats... is over 200 hectares, mainly concentrated in Van Don, Dong Trieu, Hai Ha. At this time, flower growing areas in the province have attracted a large number of people to visit, choose and buy the most beautiful plants to decorate their homes. Many traders have also come to gardeners to place large orders to bring to the market for consumption during Tet 2025. In addition to the initiative of gardeners, in order to stimulate consumption, meet people's needs, and create highlights, localities have also built programs to organize festivals, fairs, and spring flower markets to promote, introduce, and facilitate people and tourists to visit and buy flowers and ornamental plants during Tet.
