His unique collection was introduced to the audience within the framework of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2025, one of the special events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
Do Trinh Hoai Nam is one of the designers who has been associated with the festival for a long time. This year, his collection is called “Letters from the City”, depicting a corner of the country’s homeland during the resistance war.
Inspired by postage stamps – symbols of connection, exchange, and heartfelt letters, the collection will recreate a vivid postage stamp painting right on stage.
Sharing about the collection "Letters from the City", designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam said he was inspired by postage stamps associated with the memories of a meaningful period. Exactly 50 years since the Liberation of the South, stories and images of the period when the country was just unified have left a deep impression on him, especially letters - the thread connecting the frontline and the rear. From there, the collection was born with nostalgic colors, envelope motifs, images of Vietnamese women and famous letter excerpts, expressing love for the homeland through each line of the Ao Dai.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival will take place from March 1 to 9 with many unique and outstanding activities at historical and cultural relics, tourist destinations, and constructions of the City.
