In Cu Chi district, there are 3 industrial livestock slaughterhouses including: Loc An livestock slaughterhouse of Loc An Food Company Limited, with an average slaughter capacity of 900 - 1,000 animals/day; an increase of about 20% compared to before April 1, 2023; Livestock slaughterhouse and food processing plant of Saigon Agricultural Corporation Limited, with an average slaughter capacity of 50 - 80 animals/day.

An Ha livestock slaughterhouse and food processing factory of An Ha Service Company Limited, average slaughter capacity of 1,900 - 2,300 animals/day.

In Binh Thanh District: Livestock slaughterhouse of Vietnam Livestock Industry Corporation (Vissan): average slaughter capacity of 400 - 500 animals/day; equivalent to the previous slaughtering capacity of the Company.

" In general, the supply of pork for the city market compared to before April 1 has not fluctuated significantly, remaining relatively stable, with an average output of about 9,500 - 10,000 pigs/day," said Mr. Hiep.

According to Mr. Hiep, the source of pigs for slaughter in the area has decreased by about 700 - 1,200 pigs/day (decreased by about 10-15%), because some livestock owners have moved to Long An and Binh Duong for slaughter or converted to meat business, not buying live pigs for slaughter.

At the same time, the amount of pork brought from the provinces to the city for consumption increased by about 500 - 1,300 heads (an increase of about 15-20%).

Since April 1, 8 facilities and areas for manual slaughtering of livestock in the city have stopped operating, including: Binh Tan Center slaughterhouse (Binh Tan district); Phuoc Kien slaughterhouse (Nha Be district); Tan Phu Trung, Hoa Phu, Phu Hoa Dong, Tan Thanh Dong, Xuyen A slaughterhouses (Cu Chi district) and the manual slaughter area of Hoc Mon Food Processing Joint Stock Company (Hoc Mon district).

Trung Tuyen slaughterhouse in Can Gio district continues to operate, with an average slaughter of 20-30 pigs per day to serve the consumption needs of Can Gio district residents according to Decision No. 231/QD-UBND.
