Dr. Van Schepler-Luu, Professor Tran Van Tho, Professor Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, and Dr. Nguyen Trong Hieu commented that VinFuture contributes to promoting domestic science and inspiring innovation.
Dr. Van Schepler-Luu, Head of the Plant Pathology and Host Plant Resistance Department at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), stated that VinFuture is a focal point for establishing collaborative relationships in the fields of agriculture and science. This opinion was expressed in December 2022, during her visit to Vietnam from the Philippines to participate in the "Science for Life" seminar organized by the VinFuture Foundation.
According to her, the award reflects the belief and goal of using science to serve humanity. She considers the first two seasons successful in awarding prizes to outstanding scientists and researchers with significant impact.

From Japan, Professor Tran Van Tho, Emeritus Professor at Waseda University, Tokyo, said he was impressed by the program's ever-expanding scale. In season three, the number of nominations increased, and the number of participating projects quadrupled compared to the first year.
The professor noted that season three garnered significant attention in the international scientific community, demonstrating the ability to identify outstanding scientists and works that improve human lives. This criterion coincides with many scientific awards around the world . For example, this year's Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and the 2021 VinFuture Main Prize both honored two professors who developed mRNA vaccines against Covid-19.

Speaking about the program's impact, Professor Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT, Thailand) said that the award has an international scale and specific criteria. According to her, the goal: "Science serving humanity" aligns with current trends.
According to Professor Kim Oanh, researchers at the Asian Institute of Technology are becoming increasingly aware of VinFuture, especially through the workshops organized by the fund in recent times. This series of academic activities contributes to connecting scientists and businesses both domestically and internationally. Through the discussions, the program encourages contributions and promotes the role of Vietnamese scientists in the global innovation chain.
With Dr. Nguyen Trong Hieu, Researcher and Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University, VinFuture contributes to building bridges, bringing the domestic and international research communities closer together. The award provides inspiration for science enthusiasts, encouraging them to learn and conduct research in greater depth.
"VinFuture, along with other domestic activities, contributes to enhancing the prestige of Vietnam's science and technology sector. This could attract international attention, including investment in domestic research and development," analyzed Dr. Trong Hieu.

This assessment is shared by Dr. Van Schepler-Luu and Professor Tran Van Tho. According to Dr. Van Schepler-Luu, the award increases connections with international scientists, helping the world gain a more comprehensive understanding of Vietnam's research and development capabilities. This exchange is significant in promoting opportunities for international cooperation and enhancing the status and prestige of domestic science.
"Vietnam is playing an increasingly important role: as a partner in research and development; and as a source of inspiration for creativity and innovation," Dr. Van Schepler-Luu stated.
The Global Innovation Index 2023 report, published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on September 27th, shows that Vietnam has risen two places compared to 2022, ranking 46th out of 132 countries and economies. WIPO considers Vietnam one of the three countries with outstanding performance relative to its level of development.
According to experts, the two-rank increase amidst the challenging post-Covid-19 pandemic situation shows that Vietnam has made the right investments in policies and mechanisms for scientists. On behalf of VinFuture, the organizing committee stated that the award contributed to this change in ranking.
