Nguyen Thi Oanh achieved good personal results but has not won any medals.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhi eliminated Hamroeva Nilufar (Uzbekistan) in the round of 16 of the women's single-string bow event. Do Thi Anh Nguyet also advanced after defeating Pak Hyang-sun (North Korea).

In the women's category, Le Quoc Phong entered the round of 16 after defeating Su Yu-yang of Taiwan (China) 6-4. Nguyen Duy stopped after losing to Abdullin Ilfat (Kazakhstan).

Athletes will compete in the round of 16 of the individual event this afternoon.

Nguyen Van Day was eliminated in the round of 16 of the 3-string bow after losing to Verma Abhishek (India) 142-146. Nguyen Thi Hai Chau lost to Fadhly Raih Zilizati (Indonesia) 142-143.

In the individual bow event, Le Quoc Phong defeated Chen Yao Yuy (Uzbekistan) 6-2 in the round of 32 qualifying match. Nguyen Duy also defeated Taha Abdulla (Kuwait) 6-0.

Weightlifting

Quang Thi Tam failed to perform 95kg twice. She was only counted as having a snatch of 92kg and could hardly compete for a medal.

The Vietnamese women's team beat Japan 2-0 (21-11, 21-18) and won the right to enter the semi-finals of the 4-person team event.

In the men's event, the Vietnamese team lost to Myanmar 1-2 (22-20, 19-21, 19-21) and did not advance past the group stage.

Weightlifting

Quang Thi Tam lifted 92kg in the first round.

Hoang Thi Duyen failed at 93kg in all 3 attempts. She is not eligible to compete again. This athlete once achieved a clean and jerk of over 100kg, but after suffering a serious injury in early 2021, she could not recover to the best condition to maintain such an achievement.

Quang Thi Tam and Hoang Thi Duyen are preparing to compete in the final of the women's 59kg category. World record holder and ASIAD record holder Kuo Hsing Chun from Taiwan (China) is also participating.

Nguyen Van Day defeated Pakzad Armin (Iran) 146-145 in the round of 16 of the men's 3-string bow event. Duong Duy Bao had the same score as Pradana Dhany Diva (Indonesia) but lost the extra point and was eliminated.

Nguyen Thi Hai Chau eliminated Philippine athlete Robles Andrea Lucia in the round of 16 of women's 3-string archery, while teammate Le Pham Ngoc Anh was eliminated despite having the same score as Bybordy Geesa (Iran).

Kurash bronze medal

Phuong Quynh lost to an Iranian boxer in the semi-final of the women's 87kg weight class and won the bronze medal.

The Vietnamese sports delegation has 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and 13 bronze medals at the 19th ASIAD up to now.

Canoe sprint

The Vietnamese team of Pham Hong Quan and Hien Nam finished 7th in the men's 500m canoe double sculls final.

Thus, the canoe and kayak athletes of the Vietnamese delegation did not have any medals today.

Archery

Do Thi Anh Nguyet, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhi, Hoang Phuong Thao defeated North Korea in the round of 16 of the women's team single-string bow. In the men's team single-string bow event, Le Quoc Phong, Nguyen Duy, Hoang Van Loc, Nguyen Dat Manh lost to the Bangladesh team and were eliminated.

Thus, in the team events, the Vietnamese team has 4 representatives passing the first knockout round. The athletes will compete in individual events in the afternoon.

Kurash: Vietnam will definitely have a medal.

Vo Thi Phuong Quynh defeated Muhammedova Jahan (Tajikistan) in the women's 87kg quarter-finals. She will meet Bagheri Zahra in the semi-finals at 2pm this afternoon.

In the semi-finals, the two losing athletes were both awarded bronze medals. Therefore, the Vietnamese female boxer is sure to win a medal.

Bui Minh Quan lost to Atayev Ishanmyrat (Tajikistan), eliminated in the quarter-finals of the under 90kg weight class.

Nguyen Thi Huyen failed to qualify for the women's 400m hurdles with a time of only 58.49 seconds.

Canoe sprint

Nguyen Hong Thai and Nguyen Thi Huong unfortunately missed out on a medal when they finished fourth in the women's 500m canoe double sculls final with a time of 2 minutes 8.695 seconds. The Vietnamese team ranked second after the first 250m but was then overtaken by Kazakhstan and Thailand.

Do Thi Thanh Thao and Hoang Thi Huong finished 7th in the women's 500m kayak double sculls final.

Nguyen Thi Hai Chau, Le Pham Ngoc Anh, and Voong Phuong Thao defeated Mongolia 228-205 in the round of 16 of the women's 3-string bow team event. Nguyen Van Day, Duong Duy Bao, and Tran Trung Hieu lost to Kazakhstan in the round of 16 of the men's 1-string bow team event and were eliminated.

Vietnam beat Laos in the second match of the men's four-man group stage. In the third match at 1 p.m. today, Vietnam will face Myanmar. The winner of this match will advance to the next round with Indonesia.

The archery team got off to a good start with wins in the single-string and triple-string mixed doubles events.

Nguyen Duy and Do Thi Anh Nguyet defeated Uzbekistan to enter the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles.

Nguyen Thi Hai Chau and Duong Duy Bao beat Bangladesh 154-153 in the round of 16 of mixed doubles treble.
