The Vietnam Athletics Federation, the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund and Tien Phong newspaper awarded the track and field team participating in the 32nd SEA Games a total of VND480 million. Of this, the athletes received VND380 million and VND100 million was given to the coaching staff.

Attending the award ceremony, Mr. Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund, expressed his sincere thanks to the coaches and athletes for the excellent success of the 32nd SEA Games.

"This achievement, along with the touching images of Nguyen Thi Oanh and her teammates, has demonstrated great aspirations and efforts, creating the necessary motivation for the Vietnamese youth generation," said Mr. Bui Quang Huy.

At the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese athletics team won 40 medals, including 12 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. Nguyen Thi Oanh (4 gold medals) and Nguyen Thi Huyen (3 gold medals, 1 silver medal) were the outstanding faces.

“In addition to the efforts of each individual, to achieve success, there is also the support of leaders at all levels, departments and units such as Tien Phong Newspaper, the Young Talent Support Fund. This brings great motivation to the athletes. On behalf of the athletics team, Oanh promises to try harder, not afraid of difficulties to make the country proud” , Nguyen Thi Oanh shared at the honoring ceremony.
