Le Quang Vu, a 29-year-old man, transformed his red corrugated iron roof into a 150-square-meter national flag, unexpectedly creating a strong wave on social networks. After just one night, the video of the flag on the roof that Vu posted received 2.8 million views, along with more than 100,000 likes and comments, starting the trend of "painting the national flag on the roof" spreading throughout Vietnam.
The house was built by Le Quang Vu in Tam Duong district, Vinh Phuc province, as a gift for his parents. The idea of painting the flag came to him when he accidentally watched a video of a girl painting the red flag with a yellow star on the roof of her small house. Seeing that his house was covered with red corrugated iron, Vu had the idea of painting a five-pointed yellow star on the roof and was supported by his family. With the help of a friend, Vu completed this work in one day by measuring, calculating on the computer and using a flycam to align the angle so that the star image was neat and beautiful.
“I never expected my work to receive such support. My only wish is to spread my love for my homeland to the community and prove that the patriotism of the Vietnamese people is immortal,” Vu shared.
With small but meaningful actions, Vietnamese people across the country are together fanning the flame of patriotism, so that every house from North to South becomes a sacred symbol of the Fatherland.
Recently, Le Van Ca (Tien Phong commune, Me Linh district, Hanoi) painted the national flag, the Party flag and the map of Vietnam on the roof of his house. He has completed painting the national flag and the hammer and sickle symbol on his roof, hoping to spread his love for his homeland to the community.
“There is no need to show love for one's homeland far away, each person can start from their own home,” Le Van Ca shared.
