The incident happened at Binh Duong General Hospital (in Hiep Thanh ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province).
The leader of Binh Duong Province's Department of Health confirmed the above information and said that the health sector is coordinating with the police to verify and clarify the matter.
According to initial information, at around 5:10 p.m. on November 4, a middle-aged woman entered the Obstetrics Department of Binh Duong General Hospital and explored the maternity rooms.
Then, this person went into the elevator area, put on a white blouse, went into the maternity room, carried a newborn baby girl out, and said he was taking her for a vaccination.
When taking the baby out, the woman put the baby in a bag and left the hospital.
After returning from dinner, the mother's family did not see the newborn baby brought back to the room, so they informed the hospital.
Through verification by the hospital, the newborn girl taken away was born on the morning of November 3, the child of the mother HTB (born in 1998, from Hau Giang).
By the evening of the same day, the newborn baby was found in Dau Tieng district, about 40km from the hospital.
Currently, Binh Duong General Hospital and the police have not provided specific information about the incident.
The leader of Binh Duong Department of Health said that the hospital is focusing on taking care of the health of the pregnant woman and reassuring her after this incident. In addition, the departments in the hospital have also been informed to increase vigilance and check for strangers entering and leaving the patient room area.
