Flood victims in Yen Bai bid farewell to soldiers

VOV.VN - After more than 10 days of efforts with the Party Committee, government and people of Yen Bai city to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, after the basic recovery work was completed, today (September 22), officers and soldiers of the units returned to their units. Thousands of local people stood along both sides of the road where the delegation passed to express their thanks and bid farewell.

Early this morning, despite the pouring rain, thousands of people in Hong Ha ward stood on Tran Hung Dao street to say goodbye to officers and soldiers of Division 316, Division 355, Brigade 168, Brigade 297, Brigade 604, Military Region 2 returning to their units, after many days of wading in mud, supporting people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.

After the historic rain and flooding caused by storm No. 3, tens of thousands of officers, soldiers of the Army, Police and militia were mobilized to overcome the consequences in Yen Bai province.

In the city alone, more than 3,500 officers and soldiers of the armed forces, mainly from units of Military Region 2, participated in supporting and helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

People standing along both sides of the road as the convoy of soldiers passed by, all carrying national and party flags, waved them in salute, and felt even more admiration for the soldiers who did not hesitate to work hard for the people. They were the motivation and support for the people in the flooded areas to continue to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

The farewell handshake was filled with military-civilian affection.
