After being propagandized and mobilized, some households in Ngai So village, Nam Mon commune, Bac Ha district voluntarily removed the iron stakes welded on the water pipes located under the Nam Mon - Coc Ly road to ensure safety for vehicles participating in traffic.
As Lao Cai Newspaper reported, since the end of April 2024, people in the communes of Na Hoi, Nam Mon, Coc Ly (Bac Ha district) were very worried when they saw that on the route from National Highway 4E (old Provincial Road 153) to the communes of Nam Mon and Coc Ly, there was a situation where local people arbitrarily welded iron poles with a diameter of 10 mm and a length of 10 cm to 15 cm into water pipes on the road, which could puncture the tires of vehicles traveling on this route.
On May 15, speaking with reporters, Mr. Giang Seo Nha, Chairman of Nam Mon Commune People's Committee, said: Immediately after Lao Cai Newspaper reported the incident, the Commune People's Committee issued a document requesting the Department of Economy - Infrastructure and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Ha district to coordinate in inspecting the situation, making a record of the incident and organizing to mobilize people to voluntarily cut down the iron stakes and move the rocks blocking the road to ensure safety for traffic.

Welding iron stakes to protect water pipes causes traffic safety problems on Na Hoi - Nam Mon - Coc Ly road
“Currently, the welded iron stakes on the road have been voluntarily removed by the people. However, the local people also proposed to the District People's Committee and the district's specialized departments and offices to have a plan to move the water pipeline of the Co De Chai - Ngai So irrigation project, which is currently located on the road, out of the road corridor, and at the same time urgently speed up the progress of upgrading and repairing the road to serve the people's travel conveniently and safely," Mr. Nha added.

Also according to people's feedback, recently, on the route from National Highway 4E (old Provincial Road 153) to Nam Mon and Coc Ly communes, there have been many large trucks carrying construction materials circulating, causing the road to deteriorate and traffic safety to be compromised. Therefore, people really hope that the authorities will soon step in to inspect and rectify this situation.
