On January 14, from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., security forces invited visitors and people without duties to leave the Tran Temple grounds so that the Organizing Committee could prepare for the incense offering ceremony, the procession of the Seal Palanquin, and the Opening of the Seal.
During the Opening Seal ceremony, to ensure the solemnity of the traditional ceremony, the Organizing Committee closed Thien Truong Temple.
Attending the Tran Temple Seal Opening Ceremony 2025 were Mr. Doan Hong Phong, Government Inspector General, Mr. Pham Gia Tuc, Deputy Chief of the Central Party Office, along with leaders of ministries, central agencies and Nam Dinh province.
After the incense offering ceremony at the Trung Thien altar of Thien Truong temple, the procession of the seal palanquin was solemnly held according to traditional rituals. The seal was carried from Co Trach temple - where the National Duke, Commander-in-Chief, Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan was worshiped - to Thien Truong temple, where the tablets of 14 Tran kings were placed, to hold the Seal Opening ceremony.
The Tran Temple Seal Opening Ceremony is a long-standing custom, expressing the people's gratitude to the Tran Dynasty Kings through a ritual simulating the royal court ritual - bestowing the seal; with the great humanistic meaning of praying for "National peace and security, world peace, prosperity, and all families enjoying the blessings of the Tran Temple Seal".
In addition, he also taught his descendants "Infinite blessings", hoping that his descendants and hundreds of families would take care to preserve moral qualities, accumulate blessings together, cultivate virtues, enjoy lasting fortune, and pray for everyone and every family to have good health in the new year, work hard, study well, and work well.
At 0:30, the security forces outside opened small paths for people and tourists to enter the ceremony. Immediately after the paths were opened, many people rushed inside, creating a chaotic scene.
Although security forces repeatedly reminded people not to jostle, push, or climb over the iron fence, many people still risked their lives by climbing over the iron fence to enter the temple. Some children were even carried over the iron fence to get inside.
Immediately after passing the iron fence outside, thousands of people flocked into the Tran Temple grounds.
Crowds of people jostle each other to offer incense and pray for luck, fortune, peace and to express their respect and gratitude to their ancestors.
