Ho Chi Minh City residents still find it difficult to buy gold online because they are constantly out of stock.

According to a survey by Lao Dong, in recent days, when four state-owned commercial banks including Agribank, Vietcombank, VietinBank, BIDV and Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) have switched from selling gold directly to selling online, many people still find themselves in a situation where they cannot buy gold even with money.

Some people said that it was difficult to buy directly, now it is even more difficult to book online because the number of registrations is overloaded, the registration system is full of reservations just a few minutes after opening for sale.

Ms. Tran Nha Quyen (office worker in District 3) said that after hearing the news that the State allowed online gold sales, she waited for many days to place an order but only received the message "The store has run out of transactions, please choose another store".

“Before, I went to the store to buy gold directly but was unsuccessful. Now I order online but still can’t buy any gold,” added Ms. Nha Quyen.

Not only Ms. Quyen but many others also fall into the situation of "having money can't buy gold".

“The sale opened at 9am, and at 5pm I went to the website and waited, entered the information but the system was overloaded, I had to re-enter it many times, then when I could send it, I received a notification that the number of transactions was over,” Mr. Hoang Tuan shared.

The leaders of the above banks all said that selling gold online is to avoid the situation of queuing to buy gold as happened recently. Currently, all 4 state-owned commercial banks and SJC limit the amount of gold that customers buy, only allowing each customer to buy 1 tael of gold and only selling online.

Banks announce the time to register to buy gold online on their information pages from Monday morning to Friday every week, except holidays. Payment and gold receipt time at the point of sale is from 13:30 - 16:00 on the day of registration to buy. Banks will cancel the registration information if the customer is 30 minutes late from the appointment to receive gold.
