A man from Uttar Pradesh, India decided to modify his family car – a Maruti Suzuki Wagon R to look more like a helicopter. He calls it a “car helicopter”.

To realize his dream of transforming a car into a helicopter, a man named Ishwar Deen welded helicopter blades to the roof of his car, then attached a joystick to the trunk, at a cost of $3,008.47, The Independent reported.

Deen came up with the idea and built a model of the car helicopter with the hope of renting it out as an attractive, unique vehicle for weddings, aiming to earn extra income and financially support his family.

Unfortunately, however, local police seized the car-helicopter while it was parked on a road, while the creator was taking his creation to a workshop for painting. Deen was fined Rs 2,000 ($24.07) for violating motor vehicle regulations, and an investigation into the incident was launched.

According to The Independent, the creator of the car helicopter told the news agency that he was disappointed that the unique vehicle, which he had “worked on day and night” for two months, had been confiscated. Deen was told that the helicopter-like vehicle would only be returned if he removed the helicopter parts from the vehicle.

The uniquely modified cars are plying on the roads all over Pratapgarh and Bihar without any restrictions. They are only used during weddings and will not be used on the roads, ” Deen expressed. “ I have modified the car for rental during the wedding season so that the family can earn extra money ,” he added.

The police officials clarified that the reason for impounding the creative vehicle was that such modifications were done without permission, which also violated Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act. “ A modified vehicle was seized. Such modifications require permission, and the vehicle has been impounded under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act. We are investigating further ,” the officer added.
