On November 16, Tra Vinh Provincial Police announced that the hotline number of Colonel Tran Xuan Anh, Director of the Provincial Police, had received 300 calls in 2 months and successfully solved many cases.
A typical case is that of Mr. H., who sells seafood in Duyen Hai district (Tra Vinh province). Mr. H. received a friend request on Zalo from an account named “Specializing in wholesale and retail of all kinds of seafood”. This account ordered more than 300 kg of shrimp from Mr. H., worth more than 48 million VND.
The account owner asked Mr. H. to deliver the goods at Dau Giay wholesale market and a bus station in Dong Nai province. When arriving at the delivery point, Mr. H. asked the "stranger" to transfer money first before delivering the goods. The other side sent a Zalo message with a picture of the successful money transfer receipt according to the recipient information and account number that Mr. H. provided, so he delivered the goods.
However, the next morning, Mr. H. discovered that his bank account had not received the transfer. He called the buyer and the recipient but could not contact them.
Realizing that he had been scammed, Mr. H. called Colonel Tran Xuan Anh's hotline to report the news. Immediately, Colonel Anh directed the Duyen Hai District Police to coordinate with the professional department to verify the information provided by the victim and promptly conduct an investigation.
Authorities identified the scammer as Lam Bich Thuan (28 years old), residing in Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province.

Five days after receiving the report, the police arrested Thuan at a motel in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. This is one of dozens of cases that the Director of Tra Vinh Provincial Police has directly directed in the past two months.
According to Tra Vinh Provincial Police, out of more than 300 calls to the hotline number of the Provincial Police Director, there were more than 140 reports and denunciations of crimes. Most of the reports were related to acts of infringement of property, public order, and economic management order. The rest were information reflecting and making recommendations on the security and order situation, administrative regulations, and the conduct of police officers and soldiers...
Thereby, the Director of Tra Vinh Provincial Police directed the handling of nearly 70 crime reports and people's reflections and recommendations.
The Director of Tra Vinh Provincial Police wishes to receive contributions from groups and individuals via the hotline number 084.345.8484. All information reflected via the hotline of the Director of the Provincial Police is directed by Colonel Tran Xuan Anh to be resolved and fully responded to.
