Prosecutors also said that Mr. Routh’s car contained a handwritten list of dates in August, September, and October where Mr. Trump had been or was expected to be. They added that Routh had set up a “sniper nest” near the sixth hole of former President Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course to try to kill him, but the plot was discovered and foiled by a Secret Service agent. Mr. Routh has so far been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. He has not yet pleaded guilty.
