Taking place from now until March 31 at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, the exhibition "Art is long, time is fleeting" introduces more than 100 works by 6 artists: Phan Cam Thuong, Nguyen Van Trinh, Trieu Khac Tien, Vu Van Tich, Nguyen Quang Trung and Nguyen Dinh Son.
When art is a place to stop
The audience has the opportunity to explore 6 different exhibition spaces according to each artist's own style. The diversity of materials from lacquer, silk, oil, acrylic; rich inspirations for creative ideas...
All are combined into a series of colorful and emotional experiences, meticulously arranged by The Muse Artspace through each space.
That is also the intention of curator and researcher Van Vi for the exhibition. She hopes that amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, art and especially painting can become a place to stop and rest.
Slowly walking through 6 spaces, immersing yourself in the creative world of the artists, everyone will have moments to experience the emotional changes in their own inner self.

Standing out in the main hall of the museum is a set of silk paintings with the theme of ancient Vietnamese culture by artist Phan Cam Thuong.
He is known as a researcher, author of 18 books specializing in ancient culture and fine arts, and a painter with a unique, unmistakable style.
His works are inspired by ancient life, stories of village life, temples, social life and also by a nostalgic love for past memories.
The exhibition also introduces for the first time the abstract paintings created by Pham Cam Thuong that have not been officially introduced to the public.
His "geometric abstract" paintings still have a subtle, ancient impression of the East, but also open up many modern dimensions with delicately arranged proportions.
Going deep into the interior space, the multi-dimensional "Living Area" works of artist Nguyen Van Trinh take viewers into a multi-dimensional, multi-colored, primitive imaginary world.
It is a world of natural power with countless living beings existing intact, a private paradise created by the artist, in contrast to the current reality that is gradually being destroyed.
He started painting the series in 2017 and has been constantly updating it based on his own true feelings. On display this time are the latest works painted on silk and giang paper with many changes in shape, detail and space.

Live life to the fullest with change
As the only doctor of fine arts practice specializing in lacquer in Vietnam, painter Trieu Khac Tien is seeking a direction for a new abstract style on lacquer.
His paintings bring a freer, more open perspective to both the author and the viewer with unique, modern visual effects, while still maintaining the profound, splendid, and sophisticated depth of traditional red, gold, and then materials.

His student, painter Vu Van Tich, brought lacquer works that capture the emotions of youth. Tich's paintings carry the intense vitality of beautiful, delicate and brilliant flowers and grasses, with thin layers of multi-colored colors on the surface and a transparent, deep metallic background.
Tich is highly regarded for his lacquer techniques and emotional artistic expressions. He is also on a journey of self-denial to find a way to change and develop his own art.
With the painting series "Seaside", artist Nguyen Dinh Son brings works in an interesting expressive style about the changes in the urban suburbs.
His paintings open up a colorful world with attentive and emotional close-ups of simple daily life, thereby revealing deep feelings from within.
The abstract expressionist paintings of artist Nguyen Quang Trung bring depth with a special "light confinement" technique, capturing moments of constant movement, both existing and transforming and gradually disappearing.
His style is considered not outdated but is developing and parallel to the contemporary flow, both delicate as ink and strong and full of vitality.
According to curator Van Vi, the common point of the 6 artists is their dedication to their passion for art and their strong change. All of them are constantly researching, investing time to explore to renew themselves and bring valuable contemporary art creations.
