Thua Thien - Hue French and Vietnamese artists will perform modern and traditional music combined with 3D lighting at Ngo Mon Gate in "Hue by light - The live show" on December 12.
Talented artists from France and Vietnam will perform works combining modern music and traditional Vietnamese instruments along with a light show (3D mapping) in the program closing the series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France, according to a representative of the French Embassy in Vietnam at a press conference today in Hue City.

"Hue by light - The live show" is the result of more than a year of work by the production team to project light on the architectural surface of Ngo Mon Gate - Hue Imperial City. The program is built around the theme "Four seasons", combining the art of Art Nouveau with traditional Vietnamese lacquer art, minimalism with dragons and phoenixes or decorative art (Art Deco) with plants and trees that are symbolic in Vietnamese culture.
French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet said the event was a testament to the "culture of sharing" and the close relationship between Vietnam and France. The city of Lyon in France regularly hosts similar sound and light performances, turning architectural works into a lively stage, attracting thousands of viewers.
"Hopefully, in the future this technique will be performed regularly in Hue," said Mr. Olivier Brochet.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue, said that "Hue by light - The live show" does not sell tickets, the stage will interact with the people. The organizers expect the Ngo Mon area to welcome 10,000 people to attend.
According to Mr. Binh, preserving and enhancing the value of architectural heritage has always been a topic of interest in Vietnam, especially in the ancient capital of Hue. Reviving local tourism by honoring architectural heritage is also one of the top priorities of the locality.

The light show (3D mapping) was performed on Ngu Phung and Ngo Mon towers during the opening ceremony of Hue Festival 2022. However, the show "Hue by light - The live show" will be "larger, more vivid, and more outstanding", said Mr. Binh.
