And every full moon of the 11th lunar month, she takes care of his death anniversary in two places: at his family's house on Nguyen Trai Street, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City and at his burial place.

Meritorious Artist Minh Phung passed away at the age of 63 due to complications from many diseases such as heart failure, kidney failure...

On November 29, 2008, a large number of fans came to the funeral, standing on both sides of the road leading to his house, to line up to burn incense and bid farewell to the artist who was given the stage name "Prince of the Stage" by the audience.

People's Artist Le Thuy confided that the late Meritorious Artist Minh Phung was a talented and handsome actor who shone on the stage of the Kim Chung Opera Company in the 1960s and 1970s. "I sang many plays with him, and the press at that time called him the tsunami couple, because wherever the troupe went, audiences flocked to watch it packed in," People's Artist Le Thuy recalled.

When he acted with People's Artist Le Thuy in the plays: "Please let's love each other once", "If there was ever a love affair", his name suddenly became famous on the cai luong stage.

After that, there were a series of plays and vọng cổ songs that touched the hearts of the audience such as: "Bông hồng sa desert", "Tam su cua chim bien", "Xin mot lan yeu", "Kiep nao co yeu nhau", "Mua tren pho Hue"... he also performed with many other female artists on the cải lương stage, and was loved by the audience.
