With the messages "Reading Culture - Connecting the Community," "Entering the Era of National Growth with Books," "Reading to Enrich Knowledge, Nurture Aspirations, Promote Innovation and Creativity," the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (2025) will take place from April 15 to May 2 nationwide.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just announced a plan to organize Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day with many activities to encourage, develop and build reading habits in the community and society.
Accordingly, the implementation of activities of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 is associated with the implementation of political tasks and major holidays of the country, sectors and localities; promoting the value of books and reading culture in the community; determining the responsibilities of all levels, sectors and localities for developing reading culture.
Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day will combine traditional activities with modern methods following the development trend of digital transformation. In addition, it is necessary to effectively promote books, honor typical groups and individuals in publishing activities, develop reading culture on media to widely spread the value of books and reading culture; connect domestic and international readers.
Specifically, Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day will include many diverse activities: Festival with activities to promote and introduce books, tell stories and imitate books, draw pictures from books, arrange books artistically; Exchange and discussion about books and reading culture, honor readers, creators, librarians, preservers, collectors, promote books and contribute to the development of reading culture.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presides over and coordinates with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Vietnam Publishing Association and localities to promote book introduction spaces of publishers and distributors; book signing, donations, support and gifting; exchange old books for new ones; organize activities to guide reading methods and skills, develop skills in searching, exploiting and using information.
Within the framework of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, there will also be seminars, discussions, and knowledge exchanges on reading trends, sharing information on how to use technology and new electronic reading platforms to encourage reading such as: Digital reading trends, audio books, interactive books and new technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality...
This is also an opportunity to promote the establishment of clubs and online reading groups to discuss works through platforms such as Zoom, Skype, and Google Meet.
The opening ceremony of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is scheduled to be held on April 17 in Ho Chi Minh City./.
