BTO-Responding to the third Vietnamese Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024 (April 21), schools in the province organized many meaningful activities to encourage and develop the reading movement among students and teachers.
With the messages: “Good books need readers”, “Precious books for friends”, “Give good books - Buy real books”, “Good books: Eyes read - Ears listen”… each school chooses a different form of propaganda to arouse the passion for learning knowledge through books, as well as train students in reading habits.
In particular, at Phu Tai Primary School (Phan Thiet City), more than 1,200 students and teachers participated in reading culture festival activities in the school yard to both promote and exchange, and help students have the opportunity to access effective reading methods. Along with that, the Union organized to commend and reward outstanding groups in the reading movement and follow the Team newspaper.
At Hai Ninh 2 Primary School (Hai Ninh Commune, Bac Binh District), the school took the theme of the reading and reading culture festival "Dien Bien soldiers of the past fought well - Dien Bien soldiers of today study well". The activities took place with many contents such as book display, book promotion, storytelling based on books, book donation... In the book display section, with the creativity and enthusiasm of teachers of professional groups, the book display booth simulated the shape of the country. In addition, students were also introduced to the example of President Ho Chi Minh's love of reading and self-study spirit, the studious spirit of the Vietnamese people and the significance of the Dien Bien Phu victory on May 7, 1954. Thereby, encouraging students to learn and deepen the heroic history of the nation's struggle, fostering love for the homeland, and having the will to strive to excel in studying and training.
To encourage self-learning through reading, creating opportunities for children and teenagers to demonstrate their talents, creativity and skills, schools also cooperate with the Provincial Library to bring books to schools. The Mobile Library vehicle carries more than 2,500 books, televisions, computers, gifts, and fun science games, once again affirming the usefulness of books and reading culture.
Mr. Nguyen Van Binh - Deputy Director of the Provincial Library, said: In April, 10 schools in Tuy Phong, Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan Nam districts and Phan Thiet City registered Mobile Library vehicles to serve schools. This is the first step showing that schools have paid more attention to reading culture, changing to inspire reading for children to form reading habits and skills in the young generation, contributing to the development of reading culture in the community - an important factor in building the spiritual foundation of society.
