Rejuvenation of cardiovascular disease is increasingly common due to changing lifestyles.
10 years ago, Hanoi Heart Hospital performed interventional cardiovascular procedures for about 5,000 patients each year. The number of patients treated with cardiovascular techniques increased by an average of 15% per year. Not only did cardiovascular disease cases increase in people over 60 years old, cardiovascular disease cases also increased in young people between the ages of 25 and 40, with many patients with acute myocardial infarction before the age of 40 recorded.
On average, cardiovascular disease kills 200,000 people each year, accounting for about 1/4 of all deaths in our country. Previously, the risk of high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, and stroke was usually only found in people aged 50 and over... Currently, cardiovascular disease has appeared in people aged 30-40, even in cases under 30 years old.
Notably, up to 44.3% of people aged 25 - 74 in urban areas have high blood cholesterol and this rate increases with age. High blood cholesterol is the result of an unhealthy diet, overweight and obesity, and will lead to the formation of atherosclerotic plaques, high blood pressure - the leading cause of increased cardiovascular disease, and leave serious health consequences. Cardiovascular disease is becoming more common in younger people due to changes in lifestyle, reduced physical activity, alcohol abuse, and consumption of more animal protein than vegetable protein. In addition, frequent stress and pressure in life also lead to the risk of cardiovascular disease.
At the conference, nearly 2,000 doctors, technicians from all over the country and leading cardiovascular experts from the US, France, Singapore, Japan, and Korea discussed cardiovascular health including: basic and advanced cardiovascular treatment; heart surgery, cardiovascular intervention, etc.
