On the afternoon of January 3, the Department of Construction held a conference to summarize the work in 2024, deploy tasks and launch the emulation movement in 2025. In 2024, the construction industry's production value is estimated to reach about 36,700 billion VND, an increase of about 6.49% over the same period in 2023; the urbanization rate will reach about 25.1% with an average urbanization growth rate of about 1.7%/year and there is still room to promote rapid growth in the coming years.
The average housing area of the whole province is about 28.9m2 of floor area/person; of which, rural areas reach 25.4m2 of floor area/person, urban areas reach 32.4m2 of floor area/person. Administrative reform continues to receive attention, with many positive changes, the DDCI index of the Department of Construction in 2024 ranks first among the departments and branches of the province.
In 2025, the construction industry aims to achieve an urbanization rate of about 27.8%; the average housing area of the whole province will reach about 30.1m2 of floor/person; strive to build 2,000 apartments, ensuring the target according to the Prime Minister's Project to build at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the 2021-2030 period; the growth rate of construction production value will increase by about 10%; maintain the rate of urban population with clean water supply through the centralized water supply system at 100%; the industry's main material products: Ceramic tiles will reach about 79 million m2 , up 10.5% over the same period; sanitary porcelain will reach about 68 million products, up 11% over the same period; unburnt bricks will reach about 52 million pieces, up 12% over the same period; White cement reached 13,000 tons... Implement well the quality of urban appraisal and upgrading work, at the same time maximize and mobilize all resources to quickly implement construction investment projects. Strengthen construction inspection and examination work for the quality of construction works.

Concluding the conference, comrade Nguyen Quang Hung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts, attempts and results of the construction industry, thereby contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province in 2024.
He suggested that the construction sector should focus on doing better in advising the Provincial People's Committee on management and construction planning in a stable and long-term direction; effectively implementing the Thai Binh Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; speeding up the progress of housing development projects and the real estate market; building urban development programs, increasing the urbanization rate; managing construction investment activities, developing construction materials as well as improving the quality of construction works in the province...
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: 2025 is the decisive year to complete the implementation of socio-economic development goals, the year to hold Party Congresses at all levels; at the same time, implementing the direction of the Central and the province on streamlining the apparatus, the Department of Construction and the Department of Transport will organize a merger. Therefore, in addition to implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, it is still necessary to ensure that all professional work is smooth, effective, and not stagnant or interrupted.
In addition, the Department of Construction needs to closely follow the province's development theme in 2025 in improving discipline and strengthening administrative procedure reform in the construction sector to meet the requirements of tasks in the coming time.
On this occasion, the construction industry organized a ceremony to reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in 2024 and launched an emulation movement in 2025.
