On the morning of December 25, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa held a conference to review cultural, sports and tourism work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025.

Attending the conference were comrade: Dau Thanh Tung, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities in the province.
According to the report at the conference, in 2024, the collective leadership, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the entire culture, sports, and tourism sector made efforts to overcome difficulties to carry out their tasks, bringing the fields of culture, sports, tourism, and family to many outstanding achievements.

The whole sector continues to effectively implement approved programs, plans, projects and schemes. Propaganda work is widely deployed on anniversaries and major holidays of the country and the province. Cultural, physical education and sports activities, preservation and promotion of cultural values are carried out with attention. The movement to build a cultural life at the grassroots level is maintained. Family work is focused on and implemented, creating a wide spread.
In particular, during the year, 6 more intangible cultural heritages of the province were recognized as National Intangible Cultural Heritages; 2 relics were granted provincial-level relic ranking certificates. Many unique traditional festivals were held, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate.
Athletes of high-performance sports teams and disciplines competed in 149 tournaments (121 national tournaments, 28 international tournaments), winning 1,010 medals of all kinds, exceeding the assigned plan target.

Tourism activities are vibrant, attracting many tourists to the province. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also successfully coordinated and organized conferences on tourism development cooperation, tour connection, and routes between Thanh Hoa province and other provinces and cities.
Accordingly, in 2024, the total number of tourists to Thanh Hoa is estimated to reach 15.3 million (of which international visitors are estimated to reach 719 thousand), an increase of 22.5%, reaching 110.9% of the plan. Total tourism revenue is estimated to reach 33,815 billion VND (of which total revenue from international tourists is 375 million USD), an increase of 38% compared to 2023, reaching 104.4% of the plan for 2024. |
In 2025, the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism determined that the set goals must be highly aspirational, the solutions must be breakthrough, strong, drastic and effective, contributing to promoting the completion of the goals, targets and career development plans set out in the period of 2021-2025.

At the conference, delegates shared creative ways to effectively implement cultural, sports and tourism tasks. At the same time, they pointed out limitations and difficulties in the implementation process at the local level and solutions to overcome them in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung commended, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector in 2024.
Emphasizing that 2025 is the final year of implementing the Socio-Economic Development Plan for the 2021-2025 period, the year to prepare the best conditions for successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, he suggested that the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector should continue to strive, make more efforts, promote internal resources to overcome difficulties; focus on drastically and effectively implementing the tasks set by the sector, as well as effectively implementing the program to improve the quality of culture and the program to develop tourism.
Closely coordinate with departments, branches and localities in advising and proposing programs, projects and regulations in the field of culture, sports and tourism. Further strengthen state management in cultural heritage management activities; management, preservation, renovation and restoration of relics in the whole province; promote socialization and mobilize resources to carry out tasks.
At the conference, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched the patriotic emulation movement in 2025 throughout the industry; announced the decision to reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in performing the tasks of culture, sports and tourism in 2024.
