Binh Dinh's agriculture and environment sector successfully completed its tasks after the merger.

On April 4, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, worked with leaders of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment on the results of implementing tasks in the first quarter and key tasks in the second quarter of 2025.

Mr. Cao Thanh Thuong, Director of Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: After the merger between the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment according to Resolution 18-NQ/TW, starting from March 1 until now, the apparatus of the Department of Agriculture and Environment has been operating stably.

In the first quarter of 2025, the growth rate of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector of Binh Dinh is estimated at 3.43%, 0.07% higher than the same period last year. Of which, the agricultural sector (cultivation, livestock) and related services increased by 4.08%; forestry and services increased by 3.25%; exploitation and aquaculture increased by 2.49%. The rate of rural residents using clean water reached 100%, of which the rate of clean water use reached 38.8%. The rate of urban solid waste collection reached nearly 95%, the rate of rural solid waste collection reached 78.51%.

In particular, the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop, thanks to favorable weather, timely and effective care and pest control by farmers, has resulted in good growth and development of crops. Binh Dinh has sown 46,770 hectares of winter-spring rice (100.8% of the plan). Up to now, some localities in Phu My and Phu Cat districts have harvested 3,380 hectares of winter-spring rice, with an estimated yield higher than the same period last year. Livestock development has been stable thanks to a fairly high increase in prices.

In addition, the forest rangers have coordinated with other sectors and localities to seriously implement forest protection and development, and strengthen patrolling and control. Thanks to that, since the beginning of the year, there have been no forest fires or deforestation cases in the province.

In the fisheries sector, thanks to relatively favorable weather, fishermen are actively working at sea. The output of aquatic products exploited in the first 3 months of 2025 is estimated at 62,215 tons, reaching 21.45% of the yearly plan, up 4.8% over the same period. Of which, ocean tuna reached 3,950 tons, reaching 28.11% of the yearly plan; aquaculture output is estimated at 1,132 tons, reaching 7.1% of the yearly plan.

The fields of land management, mineral resources management, water resources, irrigation, disaster prevention, etc. are focused on.

At the meeting, delegates focused on clarifying the outstanding results in the implementation of the tasks of the first quarter of 2025 of the Binh Dinh agriculture and environment sector, proposing that the province remove difficulties, obstacles, and clear bottlenecks to ensure the growth target of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector reaches 3.6 - 3.8% in 2025.

Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding results achieved in the implementation of the tasks of the first quarter of 2025 of the agriculture and environment sector. Mr. Dung emphasized that after the merger and consolidation, the sector quickly stabilized its organizational structure, assigned specific tasks to each member of the Board of Directors, and at the same time effectively implemented the assigned tasks. Thanks to that, the new apparatus has been operating stably and effectively, ensuring the management and operation of the sector's fields.

Regarding the upcoming tasks, in the context of the province continuing to implement the second phase of the revolution to rearrange and streamline the political apparatus, Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung requested the Board of Directors of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province to continue to consolidate and rearrange the apparatus according to the approved project, and arrange enough capable and dedicated staff to undertake the tasks.

The Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee directed that from now until the province's merger, the entire agricultural and environmental sector of the province must complete its professional tasks. In particular, the most important task is to complete the construction of a land management database. Continue to lead the comprehensive development of the fields of cultivation, livestock, forestry, aquaculture, environmental management, clean water, etc.

"What must be done so that in 2025, the goals and targets assigned to the industry must be achieved and exceeded to complete the goals and targets of the 5-year implementation plan 2020 - 2025 according to the 20th Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee", Mr. Ho Quoc Dung emphasized.

Mr. Dung also requested that the Binh Dinh agriculture and environment sector have a specific plan to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on science and technology development, digital transformation and innovation. Form a team of dedicated and qualified scientists in all fields of cultivation, animal husbandry, aquaculture, natural resources, environment, etc. The Department needs to have a specific project for the province to support development resources to improve product quality and efficiency to improve people's lives.

“In the coming time, Binh Dinh will focus on poverty reduction, determined to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, striving to complete this task by May 31, 2025. This year, the province will strive to reduce the poverty rate to 0.6%,” emphasized Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung.
